Culminated in a PR internship with the Virginia Beach Public Library system in the Summer of 2018, along with a teaching program in Fall 2018 where I taught beginner-level English to a class of Hispanic adults. CAREER

ASSISTANT LANGUAGE TEACHER - SHIGA, JAPAN – 2019 - 2021 Worked for the Shiga Board of Education in a teaching and cultural exchange capacity. Responsibilities included being the primary instructor in several classes across three different schools, working through language barriers to cooperate effectively with coworkers, and participating in local cultural exchange events. Truly a once in a lifetime experience.

EXPERIENCES

SELFTAUGHT FULLSTACK PROGRAMMING – 2020

Using freely available online resources, such as Edabit and FreeCodeCamp, I learned the fundamentals of object-oriented programming, refined my skills as a front-end developer and UI/UX designer, and made a handful of projects that showcase my skills. In particular, I spent a lot of time focusing on Vue.js, my personal favorite front end framework.

SMASHPROOF SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER – 2016 - 2018

Managed the social media accounts of a niche plastics business with a target audience of young adult gamers. Included market research, tracking engagement, and networking with other niche brands with the same audience.
