PROFILE SUMMARY
Ernest Ampomah Arkoh, an instructor in Education (Curriculum Studies & Social Studies) and Geography Education (Environment and Development, Physical Geography, Geomorphology, Climate, Water Resource Management, Human Geography, Resource Management, and Transport Geography), has been trained in Curriculum and Teaching, Geography Education, and Social Studies Education. He possesses extensive qualifications and expertise in Curriculum Studies, Geography Education and Social Studies. He is currently a Ph.D. student in the Department of Geography and Regional Planning, University of Cape Coast, and a Graduate Assistant in the Department of Business and Social Sciences Education, where he assists lecturers in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. His PhD research is titled Geo-spatial Analysis of Classroom Environment and Academic Achievement of Senior High School Students in the Coastal Savanna Enclave. He obtained his Master of Philosophy Degree in Curriculum and Teaching (Social Studies) from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Education, University of Cape Coast, Ghana. His thesis was titled “Senior High School Students’ Knowledge and Understanding of Political Participation: A Study of Schools in the Cape Coast Metropolis.” He also holds a Master of Arts Degree in Geography and Regional Planning in the Faculty of Humanities and Legal Studies at the University of Cape Coast, where his long essay was titled “Road Crossing Behaviour among School Children in the Cape Coast Metropolis.” He obtained his first degree in Social Studies Education from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Education at the University of Cape Coast. His project topic: “Exploring Teachers and Students Practices of Citizenship Education in Senior High Schools in the Kumasi Metropolis.” Finally, he holds a Diploma in Human Resources Management from the Institute of Chartered Management (ICM) Bournemouth, England.
He has been a part-time education lecturer at the Community-University College, Takoradi, since 2015, teaching and supervising project work of students at the undergraduate level. He has been teaching courses in Physical Geography, Environment and Development, Thematic Geography of Ghana, Geomorphological Process, History of Ghana, History, and Management of Education, Ghana, and Foreign Relations and Culture and Diversity. He is also a Senior Tutor at the College of Distance; and Institute of Education all of University of Cape Coast, where he has taught many courses in Geography and Education since 2016. He supervises students on Teaching Practicum (On & Off-Campus). He has published articles, attended a number of conferences, and has several papers awaiting publication. He is an Assistant Examiner for Colleges of Education, Social Studies Examinations (Institute of Education, UCC) and Assistant Examiner for WAEC Social Studies Paper-II. He has attended many training workshops and seminars in Geography, Education, and Research.

I am interested in researching the following areas: Development of Curriculum in Schools, Teaching Pedagogies, Teaching and Learning with Technology, Teaching and Learning Processes, Development Geography, Environment and Development, Environmental Management, Waste Management, Sanitation Systems, Water Resource Management, Transport Development, Climate Change and Health Behaviours, Livelihoods and Resource Management.
