Achievements at PREMIUM GRANITES LTD.
Joined as Works Manager. Worked on the basis of MMM System.
1.Machinery major maintenance done; condition brought up to date. In that process all the machines are working with optimum capacity with good quality. Converted Wire saw into horizontal cutting. Put Hensel Plant into operational condition for Tiles. Major maintenance done in Gang-saw: Trolley wheels modified to withstand 120 tons.
2.Material Handling at quarry: Made a structure to handle 120 tons blocks. Made a Connecting beam to handle 120 ton at factory with two cranes for unloading the blocks.
3.Manpower : Though the company is having a Union, by implementing Contract Labour in the production area and implementing strict disciplinary action, created a congenial atmosphere inside the company which paved the way for higher productivity.
4.In the last one year, the company had a record dispatch of 120 containers which has been considered an all-time high.
5.All the areas have been updated by statistical recording and monitoring system.

Achievements at GLITTEK GRANITES LTD.
I was associated with a large Granite process Industry, an 100% E.O.U.as a Head of New Development, Maintenance and Utilities. I introduced Engineering System for maintenance and process operation. Several modifications were done to optimize production, which resulted in rejection coming down from 35% to 10 %.
Down time of machines was brought down by 22% to 2%. Statistics were analyzed and proper planning made for maintenance and production, resulting in total rectification of the entire plant. Bar chart was implemented to monitor work. This also resulted in reduction of man power.
The biggest success was introduction of T.P.M. The production team was trained to maintain the machines. This brought down machinery break downs to negligible levels.
With strong convincing capabilities, I believe and preach that quality and quantity with low cost only helps in the growth of the industry. This belief is drilled into the staff and the workmen daily. The results are heartening.
There are several other achievements which can be explained when called for technical discussion.
Following modifications done in Hensel Machines
1)Tile saw square rails were changed to round rails : 2 hrs / day BW reduced.
2)Polishing 2 mm plate removed and 20 mm plate provided, which reduced 180 Sft line breakage/day & Quality Standard maintained.
3)Lubrication system introduced.
4)Gang saw connecting, locking, main frame modified, holders made, resulting in the saving of 600 Hrs down time. Production 6 to 7 cutting / month.
5)All MS - guards converted to SS.
6)Blow Air implemented for drying.
7)Slurry settling system implemented.
8)T.P.M. introduced in the plant.
9)Production and analysis meeting conducted everyday.
