beneficiaries in a new start up practice. The Podiatrist provides Podiatric

diagnosis and treatment for the Quechan and Cocopah tribes located at Ft. Yuma

in Winterhaven California. Services provided at Ft. Yuma to include inpatient and

outpatient rendered through a local civilian hospital which requires the Podiatrist

responsibility of providing comprehensive Podiatric medical care services to all

Quechan and Cocopah tribal beneficiaries. The Podiatry services provided;

require the recognition of diseases, including but not limited to Diabetes Mellitus

and other complex medical /surgical problems where the course of treatment are

not always established and Quechan/Cocopah tribal benefices are often referred

from outlying service units or health clinics. Assignments may also include

Tri Venture Cooperative Anchorage Alaska, Anchorage Alaska assignment c/o

Access Health is a Tri Venture Assignment in cooperation with the US Army and

the US Air Force and Veterans Affairs. The Chief Podiatric Consultant is required

to maintain inpatient and outpatient privileges at both Bassett Army Community

Hospital and Elmendorf Air Force Base. The Veterans Affairs Podiatry Service is

the largest service in the VA Surgical services. The Chief Podiatric Consultant is

responsible for the daily operation of the tri service units; which includes

supervising multiple uniform and contract Podiatrists along with multiple

Podiatric medical technicians.

responsible for the production output of the tri-service units, approximately3200-

3500 patients per month and nearly 72-95 surgical procedures per month at the

combined Anchorage facilities outpatient clinics. This does not include travel to

the two Community Outpatient Based Clinics (CBOC's); one in Fairbanks, Alaska at the Bassett Army Community Hospital, / Elmendorf Hospital and the other in on the Kenai peninsula. At all these locations, the Chief Podiatric Consultant is expected to work independently. Responsible for the supervision: with respect to overall diagnosis, examination, treatment, prevention and care of conditions afflicting the foot and related structures to all Tri-Service beneficiaries.

The Chief Podiatric Consultant; instructs, supervises, physician assistants, nurses, and medical technicians in support of the overall Tri-Services Podiatry clinics missions. This includes but not limited to planning and conducting research, teaching, and reorganization of the Podiatry Medical and Surgical TriServices missions. Development of new technologies including digital scanning for the prescription, designing, and fabrication for fitting of orthotic or prosthetic devices. As an integral member of the hospitals and surgical staffs requiring close contact with all general medical and surgical specialties the Chief Podiatric Consultant is expected to participate in total quality care for pathological conditions appropriate for surgical intervention or when necessary medical consultation. This workload includes but not limited to: history and physicals, evaluations of radiographs, interpretation of laboratory work ups; develops differential diagnoses, performs biomechanical evaluation, provides consultations specific to the modality i.e.: Surgical, medical, biomechanical or rehabilitation.

Responsible for all the Tri-Services Podiatric Medical and Surgical service units’ consultations, Provides Emergency room coverage and referrals.

The Chief Podiatric Consultant is responsible for all assignments based on overall activities in accordance with Tri- Services US Army, US Air Force and Veterans Affairs regulations,

policies and procedures. This requires the evaluations of congressional or senatorial inquires

medical staff’s reviews for all the work done in all three Tri-Service Podiatry Departments.
