Responsibilities:

• Executed many New product introduction (NPI) and R&D programs for Power generation and process industry including conceptual design including hand calculations and analysis using Finite element analysis, FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis), released preliminary drawings for production, review final product drawings, prepare Installation guidelines, involved in continuous improvement initiation, RFQ documentation, ISO application

• Optimized the design and analysis process time from 5 days to 1 day using Ansys APDL programming and applying lean methods for problem identification

• Optimization of Product life cycle, material and design of high temperature application components. Changes included evaluating alternative materials, new geometry. Analyzed and interpret FEA results, Vibration analysis and Modal analysis using ANSYS

• Detailed design of refractory that includes material selection, brick design and expansion calculations etc. Involved in complete life cycle of the refractory from production to qualification of the vendors

• Designed fuel burner nozzle from cradle to grave for coal slurry, oil and natural gas applications which includes pipe, tip sizing, material and flange selection as per ASME codes and standards.

• Identified and implemented design improvement suggestions, RCA (Root cause analysis) using Cause and effect(Fishbone), Guided the installation team and supervised complete refractory installation including Curing. Optimized installation time and curing time by Lean process improvement and project management from 45 days to 30 days with 100% customer satisfaction.( Eastman Chemical company, Longview, Texas, USA)

• Proposed Optimal design solutions of refractory design for better performance and life, Supervision of the refractory installation and curing.( IGCC-Duke Energy. Indianapolis, Indiana, USA)

• Supported in assessing supplier life cycle management as design expert to inspect the methods of manufacturing, Sampling validation, brick shapes and composition and verify the product specifications with the design requirements. Verified test reports such as porosity, material specifications, calibration reports(Luoyang Institute of refractory research, China & Cadlyers refractories, Nagpur, India) Responsibilities:

• Estimation of total power loss automatic transmission system which includes Gears, Bearings, Oil Seals etc.

• Bending Stress Analysis of Gears using Finite Element Method.

• Design of mechanical steering unit for automatic transmission system.

• Design of Gears, Bearing Life Estimation, Design of Shafts and splines.

• Supported PHD research programs for various gear desings.

• Field experiments for measuring the torque and speed of the combat vehicles.

• Tesing of new equipment for the transmission vehicles for pivot turns.

• Gearing calcuations using KISSOFT tool and compare the results with the bending stress calculation using Finite element analysis (ANSYS)
