I have over 20 years’ experience as a Boilermaker and progressed to the position as a Senior Workshop Foreman within the company (Steinmuller) in Sasol,
With strong managerial and supervisory abilities, I managed a team of Artisans of various disciplines (boilermakers, welders, pipefitters, mechanical fitters and the Q Cdepartment ) seamlessly.
Part of my duties included the following;
Control the output and quality of work done by the operations personnel in his / her areas of authority,
Manage, plan, organize and control operations to ensure safe, stable and efficient operation of the plant,
Plan and organize the off-loading and dispatch of quality final products,
Take corrective action in emergency situations and plant upsets,
Ensure high SHE standards are maintained,
Manage and plan the workload of my subordinates shifts in accordance with the respective job requirements and standards, while encouraging each employee to contribute to the overall success of the team,
Coordinate, organize and plan maintenance activities with the maintenance department and the process coordinator to achieve the agreed work management KPIs,
Oversee the preparation and safe making of equipment
Control and follow work methods / procedures / standards and update where necessary,
Control the financial expenditure of the operations in my area of authority
Manage and ensure effective communication with internal and external customers and production and other disciplines,
Attend and lead production toolbox talks, shift hand-over and other business meetings,
Lead the shift so that all the agreed performance indicators of the behavior-based safety program are achieved,
Manage shift cover and overtime on my shift within legislative requirements,
Lead effective root cause analyses (RCA) such that they are improvement tools, while ensuring that all incidents are effectively reviewed and incorporating the learning to eliminate repeat incidents,
Training/coaching of a team to ensure competency and compliance,
Assist with project execution and participate in management of change process,
Control the periodic inspections of equipment (including safety and transport equipment and systems), emergency exercises, PJOs and BBS observations to meet the performance of safety criteria,
Build a knowledge of and compliance to legal company standards,
Enforce disciplinary codes fairly and consistently,

I communicate effectively in English and Afrikaans (verbal & written) and able to prepare reports for presentation to senior management,
