HR Services Senior Category Manager, October 2019-Present (Supervisor of 1-2 Professionals)

Managing 3 categories – Employee Services, Learning & Development and Talent Mobility with a total annual spend of $400MM

Responsible for creating and executing the category strategy for all three categories. The strategy includes managing complex projects in support of the business goals which includes assisting with risk and issue resolution.

Understand customer requirements as part of the business planning process to prioritize workload and resources.

Communicate to all stakeholders on a timely and efficient manner (most likely a review of a deck that would include status updates, data, risk/issues and next steps).

Build strong relationships with sourcing project sponsors (sourcing projects) and program sponsors (large procurement initiatives)

Assessing the business impact of COVID on the categories and documenting the impact on 2020 goals.

Lead and coordinate supplier assessments through either benchmark analysis or a RFx event.

Oversee the strategy development and implementation of my direct reports. Provide guidance as needed.

Manage preferred supplier relationships with a standard relationship governance structure. This includes review of metrics, relationships, escalations, etc.

Negotiate favorable pricing using a negotiation strategy that includes inputs from benchmark data, market research and experience.

Guide direct report as he implements the new Learning & Development preferred supplier strategy in North America.

Identify and manage preferred supplier programs to improve value and efficiency of the service.

Guide direct report as he leads the Supplier Diversity program, Business Planning process and Savings for HR Services procurement.

Leading various sourcing projects (RFIs/RFPs) in support of HR Services business plan – Senior Leadership development program, Household goods, First Line Leaders.

Sustainability program leader for HR Services procurement and responsible for representing the Category and/or Sector: voice, strategy, influencer, decision aggregator/maker. Asking 41 partners to complete the Ecovadis survey and currently on track to meet the goal.

Provide leadership with regular key updates via email or regularly scheduled meetings.

Utilize SAP/Ariba to process purchase orders and to manage the RFx process.

Utilize Salesforce.com to manage procurement cases.

Review and provide contractual requirements as part of the contracting process.

Clinical Services Senior Category Manager, June 2017-October 2019 (Supervisor of 1-2 Professionals)

Managed 3 categories – Central Imaging, ECG and IWRS with a total annual spend of $40MM)

Responsible for creating and executing the category strategy for the Central Imaging Category.

Exceeded savings targets of in 2018 ($2.3MM) and 2019 ($2.4MM) and team identified an additional $600k in 2019 to help close the savings gap for the department.

Oversaw the strategy development and implementation of my direct reports. Provided guidance as needed.

Provided direct report with guidance as he developed and executed the IWRS category refresh. Three preferred suppliers were awarded after 12 suppliers were included in the RFP and $2MM of savings were achieved.

Led the Partner Ignite initiative of Remote Specimen/Samples collection where we reviewed innovative ideas to have study patients provide samples remotely instead of going to a doctor’s office.

Led the Reverse Localization initiative for Clinical Development in order to move the department to the standard operating model for contracting and sourcing.

Was the Supplier Diversity business leader for R&D procurement (January 2016 – December 2017) and was responsible for representing the Category and/or Sector: voice, strategy, influencer, decision aggregator/maker

Was the Triple Aim functional lead in R&D procurement ensuring the triple aim metrics are understood by the organization and they are properly utilized. These metrics measured the success of our sourcing initiatives.

Was the Continuous Improvement Lead in R&D procurement (since April 2017) in support of ESP where procurement moved to a centralized procurement system. Was also the primary POC in R&D procurement regarding business partner issues / escalations and work with GS to resolve.

Responsible for creating and executing the category strategy for engineering services (5x6 program).

Successfully led a large MD sourcing strategy (RFI, RFP, and auction) with senior leader representation from every franchise. The selection of the 4 preferred suppliers was made in alignment with the core team and executive sponsors implementing the program across MD.

Delivered $6.9MM savings in 2016 (exceeding expectation); Estimated to provide $6MM savings in 2017.

Successfully on-boarded HCL (S2), TCS (S2), L&T (S3) and Syntel (S3) to the SRM program.

Supplier Relationship Manager of category preferred suppliers. Manage relationship through monthly meetings, BRM, and top-to-top meetings. Establish consistent processes across MD and across preferred suppliers.

Leading collaboration between R&D and IT procurement to leverage supplier relationships enterprise-wide for similar suppliers.
