Shop Foreman- Sheet Metal 4 Years

Seamlessly managed 16 personnel during numerous influx’s of work requests, continuously accomplishing work order’s ahead of schedule with no rework required. Attended daily production meetings in order to update and provide deadlines of work orders to PMA. Identify scope of jobs, to include required material and equipment/tools necessary to accomplish tasks. Delegated workload to assign the right-person to the right-job attitude. Trained junior personnel in the processes to lay-out, fabrication, and welding of drip pans, rack pans, square to rounds, and stowage lockers. Account for time used off of packages, add other shops to packages IE. Sand blast, paint, lagging. Conduct annual performance evaluation on subordinates. Conduct or suggest reprimands for lack of performance, attendance and other violations of company policy.

Lead Craftsman- Structural 3 Years

As structural fabricator and repair person, spear-headed a team of 4 to remove water tight doors, weld-prep and fit-up, and personally conduct welding services for NDT Inspection. Drove a team of 8 craftsman to efficiently plasma cut, carbon arc, and acetylene cut damaged bulkheads/walls, decks/flooring, and various brackets simultaneously in separate locations. Trained 8 craftsman in the Operating Procedures and safety protocols of shop equipment, vastly increasing production and decreasing materials waste, to include hossfeld bender, slip roll, tap and die, brake press, and more. Familiarized and lectured personnel on the procedures and requirements of multiple manuals such as WP-1689 and pipe welding 278, and requirements for non-destructive testing.

Mechanic Pipe 4 years

As part of maintenance team, I was responsible for the PMS and inspect operation of valves, pumps and shore-ship connections. Replace gaskets, o-ring, packing glads, and garlok as necessary. Inspect and troubleshoot submergible pumps and replace Tank Level Indicators, float switch or remove and install new units as necessary. Connect and disconnect shore connections to CHT, Potable Water and LP/HP lines in preparation of docking or ships movement.

As a mechanic daily routine consist of the installation of LP/HP air, N2 and Oxygen piping systems on board carriers. Typically working with ” CUNI CRES tubing, ”-2” copper pipe, and ” CRES material. A typical build consists of locating job site based off of TAC numbers and print. Lay off, clean area, and weld hangers into place to run pipe. Install pipe ensuring bend, couplings and valves are installed in correct location, IE, 52” from center line, 32” inch from overhead or 7” from valve Ensure pipe cut from grinder or pipe cutter is filed down and free from bur and sanded in preparation for brazing and welding. Account for back-out on weld joints and add for coupling, 45 or 90 short/long radius fitting depth on braze joints.

Upon completion of build, responsible for hydrostatic testing of system. “groom” system verifying all hangers have proper gromets, banding installed, all hangers welded to completion, and joints cleaned for inspectors. Set up air manifold and test pump to lowest point of system and induce air. Utilize parker fittings or bushings to ensure water and air lines properly connect to pumps. Remove all air purifiers, reducing valves, relief valves, and gauges in order to avoid damage during higher test pressures. Install spool piece or swege-lock fittings to missing components. Walk system with inspector to verify satisfactory test is compete.
