My Current occupation is “Leading Firefighter”. I am a dedicated, focused, hardworking, team player Fire Fighter. I started working in the Fire and Rescue environment at KwaDukuza Municipality in 2003 where I gained knowledge and skills. I also acquired extensive knowledge in the field of Fire Fighting through formal training and gained Fire Fighter 1 and 2, HazMat Technician, Advanced Fire Prevention, IFE Level 3 (Higher) Certificate, National Diploma in Safety Management etc. I always strive to be productive where ever I am given a chance in every organisation, (Church, Work and Public). Work Experience

I was employed as a Fire Fighter by KwaDukuza Municipalityfrom 01/05/2003 – 31/01/2009, This Job entailed checking emergency vehicle and equipment for emergency preparedness, driving emergency vehicles to any emergency incident scene, stabilising the emergency incident e.g. Extinguishing any fire, treating patients in an emergency, do required evacuation in a Hazmat incident scene, etc.

I then started as a Senior Fire Fighter at City of Umhlathuze on the 01/02/2009 - 31 July 2017. I was then promoted to a Leading Firefighter on the 01/08/2017 to date. My current position duties includes: Supervise and Monitor the fire fighter routines to enhance correctness and effectiveness by:

Giving direct instruction to subordinates

Check operational routines and submission, logbooks and training reports using Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) in conjunction with the Station Officer.

Compiling of weekly overtime and standby sheets.

Check the maintenance of vehicles and equipment.

The Job Purpose for Leading Fire fighter Includes:

To maintain the readiness of the fire and rescue services; supervise the fire hydrant inspection and maintenance; conducting flammable liquid inspections; present in-service training to fire fighters; supervise the fire fighter routines. Provide supervision to subordinates.

Additional Work Experience

I was appointed as a Branch Secretary for the Church I serve under since 2014 to date. The duties include updating the church on new information from the Head Office, recording and keeping records of the branch communication. Submit monthly reports to Head Office, etc.
