EDUCATION
Hall Green Secondary School
Southam Road
Hall Green
Birmingham
B28 0AA
I spent 5 years at my secondary school leaving with grades from A* and lower. Whilst at Hall Green, I participated in many out of school activities representing the school. This included rowing competitions with the Sainsbury’s inter-sport school games, competing with many schools across Birmingham. During the competition, myself and fellow classmates also taught younger children about sport (ages 5-10), helping them understand the importance of sports and keeping fit. I also completed my bronze award with the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme taking me 12 months to successfully accomplish.

Hollywood Monster – I have done partial work with the graphics design company. I was put in accounts as a part time job sorting out paperwork, filing and other tasks around the office. I would often be sent out of the office to speak to other colleagues asking them for files that were needed for me to put onto the computer. This involved me partially using my knowledge of I.T and also brief guidance on adding account numbers and finding out if certain jobs had been sent out for delivery within an allotted time. This was only a temporary part time job which allowed me to gain more confidence around other people and to interact with other staff members.
Pandora – I did a Christmas temporary job at Pandora which involved me working closely with customers to find out what they were interested in (jewellery wise) and to also connect with them on a personal level. I also had the responsibility of handling money at the till and also did general duties around the shop such as cleaning the displays and greeting customers.
Regency Hotel Shirley (April 2017 – June 2018) –
I have worked at the regency since April, working evenings. The general duties of my job was an F&B Assistant which included setting up conference rooms, taking orders and serving food to guests and also taking phone calls from guests who wanted to book tables/order room services. This job is very fast paced when busy and requires me to think of solutions to any sort of problems in a timely matter. The main part of the job is keeping the guests happy which I feel I have succeeded in my job.
The Caring Circle (June 2018 – October 2018)
I started The Caring Circle as my first domiciliary care job. The job included visiting individuals houses and providing them with care in the comfort of their own home. This job would be simple tasks from visiting them at tea time and preparing their dinner – to more personal jobs such as personal care. The job meant I had to meet timely targets as appointments were half hourly and I would have to move onto the next house promptly. I enjoyed the opportunity to meet new colleagues as everyday was different, yet it was more rewarding to meet service users as they depended on us to provide them with any needs they requested.
Sunrise of Solihull (November 2018 – Present)
After finishing with The caring Circle I moved onto care home work. Working with sunrise is like my previous job but more in depth. My duties is to answer call bells promptly, to provide personal care for residents that aren’t capable of doing so, giving emotional support to those who aren’t feeling their best on that day, preparing and delivering meals to residents who choose not to sit in the dining room. My job also entails a large amount of manual handling too in which I’ve been trained for. This includes using mechanical hosts to transfer residents with little to no ability of mobilisation from one place to another, for example, from a bed to a wheelchair. Although the job is tough and very fast paced and stressful, it’s rewarding to myself as I know I am providing care and support to residents who have now become apart of my life.
