Experienced Microbiologist with a special focus on TB/HIV research and program implementation in diagnostic health and infectious diseases epidemiology. Broad experience in clinical laboratory services, health care leadership, and research in low- income countries for 15 years. Working in collaboration and partnership with both domestic and international health development, research organizations, and individuals. As a young investigator, I directed impactful, multi-centered, longitudinal studies with many researchers, which provided the findings to plentiful Microbiological services. Principal interest areas are communicable diseases like HIV/Viral load testing, phenotypic and genotypic methods to diagnosis Tuberculosis, and TB drug susceptibility testing. I implemented quality management system in Adama Public Health Research & Referral Laboratory Center, Ethiopia accredited by ENAO (Ethiopian National Accreditation organization). I have outstanding experience in Management. Planning and implementing laboratory programs as national and international levels. Apparently, I am working Minister of Health Lesotho consulting Laboratory Diagnostic services. Strengthen the whole laboratory network system through connectivity in the country.
In terms of training on conventional DST, Genotypic DST 1st line, and Second-line probe assay and sample transportation in Lesotho. Currently, three laboratories including the TB reference laboratory get 4 stars through the WHO/AFRO SLIPTA/SLMTA checklist assessed by an external Assessor and ready for international level accreditation.
