Maintained volumes, increased efficiency, reduced scrap, improved yields, and added new production lines.

Analyzed total workflow from raw material to finished goods to initiate first Green Belt process transformation project to achieve cost savings by using Lean principles to reduce lead time and increase productivity of raw material flow from kitting to manufacturing. Decreased lead time from three days to one hour and increased the number of kits built per labor hour, with a reduction of two FTE’s. This led to projects in 10 additional product segments focused on efficiency, scrap, and inventory.

Provided Kaizen and Green Belt leadership to facilitate cost savings and Lean process improvements for Manchester plant and companywide. Initiated programs to strategically align processes. Examples Include:

Reduced scrap by 2% and improved efficiency for a $28K savings on NanoKnife product.

Worked with sister facilities to find opportunities for shared machining and tooling services. This resulted in shorter tooling lead times and reduced costs. Increased monthly revenue in tool and die department from $37K to $52K.

Partnered with the maintenance group to develop the annual maintenance calendar for each die rebuild at 10+ plants. Reduced the overall maintenance budget through the shared machining and tooling services. Worked with Ionbond to apply coatings to tooling in order to reduce wear and extend the tooling life. Inspected and reworked or shimmed die parts to save on rebuild costs and press machine downtime.
