Work Experience
Mechanical Research Engineer
Raphe mPhibr Pvt. Ltd.
22nd July 2019– 9th December 2020
Worked on the Research and Development of UAVs, A-Z design of multiple UAVs (multi-rotor and fixed wing VTOL)
• Designed (on SOLIDWORKS, CATIA and Autodesk Fusion 360): -
• Entire multi-rotor UAV frames with interiors and carried out component level design based on mechanical & aerodynamic analyses and integration of electrical components for complete assembly of the UAV.
• Hoerner Tip winglet to reduce the induced drag in a fixed-wing VTOL aircraft.
• Electronic boxes, casings, and remotes for electronic equipment for onboard and GCS.
• Rugged Landing Gears based on Bio-mimetics for rough and uneven terrains, payload delivery mechanisms for UAVs.
• Surveillance-based camera holder mechanisms for UAVs.
• Executed structural, thermal and vibration analyses of Carbon Fibre structural members
(wing, landing gear, fuselage, frame) using ANSYS.
• Worked on CG calculations for a high endurance engine-based Hybrid electric UAV, fixed wing VTOL aircraft and multi-rotor UAVs
• Created an exhaustive excel based calculator for initial sizing of a highly power efficient fixed-wing VTOL aircraft.
• Developed renderings for the User Manuals of the above-mentioned UAVs using SOLIDWORKS Visualize.
• CNC Manufacturing Design of ceramic epoxy tooling board and carbon fibre moulds for parts manufacturing.
• Operated CNC machine tools (STEPCRAFT, HAAS, AUTOMETRIX)- for machining UAV parts, optimized these processes for minimal waste of raw materials.
• Developed G-Codes for CNC machining of parts using AUTODESK FUSION 360, MASTERCAM, PatternSmith software.
• Experience in Composite Engineering & Manufacturing processes like Resin Infusion, light- weight aerospace grade sandwich composite fabrication, pre-preg composite manufacturing, hand-layup of composites and out of autoclave curing processes.
• 3-D Printing: Manufactured Parts and Prototypes post designing parts on 3-D Printers such as MakerBot, Stratasys, Markforged using software such as GrabCAD, MakerBot Print, Eiger 3D Printing.
Mechanical Intern
Denso India Pvt. Ltd.
July 2018 - August 2018
Intern of Purchase Department under Business Planning
• Was trained on sheet metal part manufacturing, including in-house processes like forging, casting and cold working to produce pinions, boss rotors and core rotor poles.
• Created purchase orders and basic purchase agreements, performed vendor rating, costing, and calculated some of the key financial ratios.
• Assisted in new parts development process while following safety procedures on shop floor. Contact Details

Dissertation: Investigations of Double Pipe Heat Exchanger (DPHX) for its Performance Improvement using various fin configurations- A Numerical Approach 1st January 2019- 26th May 2019
• Executed the numerical analysis of the DPHX and its validation with experimental & analytical (by LMTD and NTU methods) analyses.
• Designed geometric models for the finned configurations of the DPHX using CATIA and ANSYS Workbench.
• Performed CFD Analyses of DPHX with: - fins in the annulus of double pipe heat exchanger for various fin shapes (circular, triangular, square) then calculated the mass flow rates and compared them to that of the base model, staggered fin arrangements i.e. (for various fin shapes and mass flow rates), addition of fins at the inner surface of the outer pipe for enhancement of thermal performance.
• Carried out comparisons b/w various models using Nusselt’s number & heat transfer coefficient, cold water outlet temperature, pressure drop in annulus, thermal enhancement factor variation and turbulent viscosity ratio.
• Concluded that the circular fin un-staggered configuration was the optimal model, which was then modified to a dual-fin staggered configuration which was the best model w.r.t heat transfer.
