Safran Aerospace, Bellingham WA – Senior Manufacturing Engineer, 2004 – present
A team member coordinating product development, estimating, design, planning, purchasing and manufacturing 100% quality parts delivered on-time.
Responsible for manufacturing engineering production drawing signature approval, composite manufacturing tooling and equipment design. 15yrs MRB authority responsible for NCR dispositions. Develop standard work instructions for every operation.
Lean manufacturing techniques using right size equipment and tools including presses/ovens, mold dies/lay-up mandrels, 5-axic CNC machines, CNC tool path programming, holding fixtures and assembly jigs. Materials and processes development for new products. Production facility design and lay-out to eliminate waste.
Awarded, “innovator of the year” and “expert”, for new processes and tooling designs that support lean manufacturing techniques of one piece flow, just in time and the pull system and was invited to present the idea at the cooperate technology symposium. Recognized in the international Zodiac magazine as leader in continuous improvement (Kaizen) activities.
Westport Shipyard, Port Angeles, WA – Manufacturing Engineer 2003 – 2004
Supervisor in the development of the resin infusion process to manufacture production quantities of the new design 50 meter motor yachts composite structure.
Angeles Composite Technologies, Port Angeles, WA – Manufacturing Engineer 1997 – 2003
Responsible for all Aerospace Composite manufacturing including bid proposal, bill of materials, planning, tool design, CNC programming, process control and project management. Engineering Team representative to author the engineering chapters of the ACTI quality manual to be qualified to Boeings AQS D1-9000. Wrote qualification and production planning to Boeing process specification BAC5317-1, -2, -3 and -5 autoclave cure processes. Supported high security DoD Boeing composite R&D off-load programs to be cured in our 10 x 40ft autoclave capable of 800F and 250psi.
C&D Aerospace, Huntington Beach, CA – Manufacturing Engineer 1996 – 1997
Implemented process control at the crush core press for the MD80, MD90 and Embraer production line. Developed sound dampening constructions for side wall panels as an R&D project for the M&P department.
