PROJECTS Senior Capstone Project - Spaceport America Cup 2018-2019 The High Altitude Rocket Team was challenged with the task to surpass 100,000 ft above ground level using a two stage rocket. There was a total of 22 seniors working on the project. I was the team lead for propulsion. The three member propulsion team designed, mixed, and tested our own ammonium perchlorate solid composite propellant motors for both the upper and lower stage. We manufactured all motor casing, nozzles, propellant, and all testing equipment including test stands and sensors. We also had to communicate with all other sub-teams to ensure all parts of the rocket integrated with other sub-team’s parts. All tests needed to be carried out adhering to safety con- straints and operate correctly the rst time due to cost constraints of ring motors. The team was invited to Spaceport America after a successful test ight in Brothers Oregon.
