UAV Active Structural Health Monitoring Senior Design Competition May 2020 – Dec. 2020

Project Lead; Designed, modeled and assembled a small payload UAV aircraft with a 36” wingspan capable of recording and collecting active structural health data with a sensory system of simple strain gauge sensors mounted and installed on the aircraft’s wingspan. CFD was performed with ANSYS Fluent, XFLR5 and Star CCM+. CAD was performed with SOLIDWORKS and LabVIEW was used in accordance with the DAQ system to interpret and conclude gathered data. Wind Tunnel Simulation Testing UCF Aerospace Measurements Jan. 2019 – May 2019

Project Lead; Architected, built and tested group project miniature model car for drag testing using a wind tunnel experiment to illustrate the laminar and turbulent airflow contours around the model car. SOLIDWORKS was used to CAD the small car and LabVIEW was used to collect and analyze data provided from the wind tunnel testing. Small Payload Model Rocket AIAA UCF Rocket League Oct. 2018 – Jan. 2019

Project Lead; Created, constructed and experimented on a team-built model rocket with a G74-9W motor to reach a desired altitude of 1500 ft and a deployable lander containing an egg payload that was to land safe and securely. This was in conjunction with ‘Rocket League’ club project. SOLIDWORKS was used to CAD the rocket’s fins and OpenRocket was used to design and simulate in-flight launches for the rocket. CERTIFICATION

Level 1 High-Powered Rocketry National Association of Rocketry (NAR)

Design, assemble and launch personal model rocket with a high powered H135W-14 solid fuel motor that satisfies FAA standards and safety parameters. OpenRocket was used to design the rocket’s structure and simulate in-flight conditions, SOLIDWORKS to CAD the rocket’s fins. A chute release, altimeter and accelerometer were electronics used in the launch. AWARDS, HONORS & EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES
