ACTIVITIES
I have written two articles for Senior Living magazine. The first one was highlighting my parents dating and married life and the second was an article about me and my husband and our dating and married life. The editor asked me to write more articles with local High School Seniors and their memories of a Senior Adult who meant a lot to them. I am a bit of an introvert and because of that, I didn’t feel comfortable interviewing strangers to talk about their life. The editor said she had rarely received an article she didn’t need to edit. A great compliment to me.
I love to read and am often asked to proof documents as I can generally find typos or grammatical errors quickly. Because of my proof-reading skills, I am in the process of helping my dad write and edit his memories as a Texas border county sheriff.
I have been selected as Central Plains Center Employee of the Month for February 2020 and was twice Employee of the Month when I worked for Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
My husband owned his own pest control business for 16 years and I was responsible for both Accounts Payable and Receivable on QuickBooks. After he sold his business, I find myself with spare time on my hands.
I am a Christian and a faithful member College Heights Baptist Church in Plainview and help my husband in his duties as a deacon in ministering to the families assigned to his care.
SUMMARY
I am currently employed with Central Plains Center and am interested in applying for a position I can do part time and at home, while continuing my current job. The possibilities of moving into a full-time position after a trial period will also be considered. Thank you again for considering my resume.
