ADMINISTRATIVE EXPERIENCE Continued

• Overcame the challenge of recruitment and retention of students in a public charter school. Opened in 2017 with only 188 students and realized the need to engage the community, market the school, and communicate that the school was open and ready to accept students. Went out into the community, visiting businesses, and attended community events with marketing materials to spread the word about the school. In 2018, the school grew to 240 students and in 2019, to 350 students. The school continues to grow each year. The program was a huge success.

• Expanded teaching candidates by developing relationships with the local university education program student teacher placement officer. By doing this, the school was supplied with ample student teachers each year and was able to offer positions to student teachers as they became available.
