Experience Details
2018 – Present Section Manager/Piping Lead, Worley, Houston, Texas Sr. Piping Designer/Checker, Worley, Houston Texas Conversion of an existing Hydrocracker to a service of Renewable Diesel. Project consisted of new pieces of equipment, modification of some existing equipment, changing service of other equipment assets and demo of yet other equipment items. Conversion challenge included the ability to revert to hydrocracking should client decide to do so. Field trips to site as well as laser scanning were a part of this effort. This project included some 420 tie-in locations for Piping. Section Manager/Piping Lead, Worley, Houston Texas EB/SM (Ethyl-Benzene Styrene-Monomer) FEED FEL2 for INEOS. New plant layout and design. Opti-Plant “Speed-FEED” effort.

Responsible for design of piping systems within various production units, such as cat crackers, alkylation, light ends, coker, and delayed coker. Responsibilities included checking of various design projects as well. Software utilized was AutoPlant along with the use of laser scanning (LFM).

EPC (WorleyParsons with Partner Jacobs Construction). Grass Roots Methanol Plant (MeOH) (1650 KTA / 5000 MTPD), Methanol-to-Propylene Plant (MTP) (470 KTA) and OSBL. Largest Single Plant CAPEX Project in BASF’s History. WorleyParsons performing 85% of Engineering and Procurement in Shanghai Office. Project consist of utilizing three of the offices for WorleyParsons in China. Beijing, Shanghai and Chengdu are all slated for use. Overall Management and remaining 15% of EP in Houston. 40% of Construction will be Modules fabricated in yards near Shanghai. Jacobs to execute Site Construction. Project in FEED. TIC $3 billion. PDS /SPR along with Navisworks were used during FEED for this project. Methanol FEED/DETAIL Design project – Celanese. Piping Lead project. Project consisted of a new 3700MTPD methanol plant. This project had “Work-Share” with Beijing as a large part of the effort. Assignment included a year of working in Beijing China for over-sight of Piping effort. (EXPAT). . Activity included day to day work oversight. Weekly interaction with China Piping lead and sub-leaders. Constant model review and design checking against Master P&IDs. Weekly lunch and learn training sessions held with the China Piping group. Cultural exchanges and language barriers were a constant effort. Work processes between the way the Chinese and the West approached design projects were always under review. Project also included construction assistance at the project construction site. Assigned to project to assist with “Clash Management”. Design system is PDMS. Transferred to Field site location (S. Korea) for fabrication. Assisted project management as (Project Engineer) - Deck Lead and participated as isometric coordinator and assisted with MDS (Multiple Discipline Supports) support development. (EXPAT). This expat interface was mostly done from Houston. The longest China visit was for a period of eight weeks. This was done late in the project to provide Stress Analysis help and provide the piping group a clear path to project completion.
