· Provides general laboratory support for the NBACC.
· Assists with the implementation of the Hazardous Waste Management Program. Maintains annual required EPA training certificates. Follows policies and procedures of control and storage of hazardous wastes. Assists with processing site hazardous waste disposal requests; performs accurate waste determinations; and maintains accurate records and inventories.
· Assists with the purchasing and receipt of equipment and supplies using established NBACC processes and tracking with the computer bases Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
· Tracks packing slips and other paperwork necessary for quality verification for purchase control as required for ISO 17025 accreditation.
· Assists in the tracking and stocking supplies used in the laboratories. Ensuring that correct quantities of scrubs, towels, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and general Biological laboratory use items such as surgical gloves and decontamination solution are available.
· Performs BSL -2 and BSL-3 cleaning and decontamination tasks.
· Performs routine laboratory maintenance, such as autoclave operation, cleaning and validation, floor drain and eyewash flushing, lab floor mopping/decontamination, collection, sterilization and removal of medical waste to collection site and general lab clean up.
· Coordinates preventive maintenance and equipment validations for autoclaves.
