Material Planning:

Material planning based on Bill of Material to ensure the availability of material as per planned orders/forecasts.

Review and analytical study of forecasting received from marketing/sales/customers to ensure the effective material planning & procurement.

Material planning to be done based on specifications provided by the QA/QC or customers.

Material planning of consumable and other co-related materials based on Maximum-Minimum levels.

Close monitoring and control to ensure the zero left over for promotional/seasonal campaigns and on product changeovers.

Monthly, Weekly & Day Wise material tracking to maintain inventory as per norms & to avoid the stock out position at any level of operation.

Managing all the transactions through ERP, MS Navision, Excel planning & tracking sheets.

Close monitoring of expiry for the products containing short shelf life or near to expiry.

Purchasing & Execution:

Purchasing of all type of material to be done based on specifications provided by the QA/QC, Customers or user department from approved sources as per approved supplier list.

Review of specification of new products to ensure the purchase as per prescribed specifications and requirements.

Purchasing of the BOM items based on plan from PPC, Marketing, customers etc. to ensure the availability of material as per plan.

Purchasing of consumables, Chemicals, MRO as per defined Maximum-Minimum inventory level.

Purchasing of BOM & Non BOM items from existing or new suppliers based on comparative study of the quotes, finalization of rates after negotiation in all respects and ordering to supplier after completion of supplier and product approval process.

Timely release of Purchase Order along with Day/Month wise supply schedule to vendors.

Follow up with suppliers based on requirements, dispatch plan and Expected Time of Dispatch given by the suppliers.

Monthly / Quarterly / Half Yearly / annual Quality meets with suppliers to review their performance & to share the supplier rating data at common forum.

Follow up with Courier, Cargo & transporters for timely delivery of material after dispatch.

Production Planning & Control:

Capacity Planning to be done based on available resources and production capacity.

Production planning to be done based on available production capacity and day wise production plan to be made based on priority given by the Sales & Marketing or customers.

Day wise close monitoring of production plan actual vs planned to minimize the production loses and delay in agreed time lines to customers.

Review of time lines given by the stake holders (PPC, Purchase, Stores, Production, QA/QC etc. on daily basis to avoid the sudden surprises at operational level.

Warehousing & Control:

Receipt of material in Warehouse based on purchase orders issued to suppliers.

Verification of documents based on statuary requirements.

Physical verification of vehicle before unloading based on SOP.

Material unloading & lot wise physical verification.

Cleaning of the bags/boxes and passing through Air Curtain & storage of material in quarantine area.

Preparation of GRN/MRN and intimation to QA/QC for drawing the samples for testing.

QA/QC testing the material based on standard procedures and clears the material for production with QA pass label and warehouse will transfer the material to requisite area with pass label.

In case of material rejected or put under hold for any reason, QA/QC will put the status label according and transfer the material to requisite area and inform to purchase for further course of action.

Warehouse will make the final GRN/MRN based QA/QC report and submit the GRN/MRN to accounts for payment to supplier after approval from authorities.

Warehouse team will dispense the pass material to production based on their requisition as per SOP.

Batch wise reconciliation with production to ensure the zero left on production floor at the time of line clearance & return the material to Warehouse through material return slip.

Sales & Distribution:

Production will transfer the final product to Finished Product Warehouse along with Finished Goods Transfer Note.

FG Warehouse makes the dispatches to customers/distribution centers as per day wise dispatch plan.

Other co-related activities:

Bill authorization for final payment and settlement of commercial / supply chain issues with the Vendors.

Co-ordination with production, QA/QC, warehouse, Finance etc. for smooth operational excellence.

Dealing with local Govt. bodies.

Day to Day Progress Report to Management on new developments in the area of material management & in other co-related working area’s.

Reporting to Management at specified intervals.

Inventory Analysis and Inventory Control as per inventory norms & reporting to management.

Review of supply chain efficiency on the basis of week, month & year basis.

Analytical study based on month & year wise performance review to ensure the effectiveness of supply chain efficiency for future.

Future supply chain planning & strategies based on business plans.
