I was responsible for all finishing operations which includes working with purchasing, color design that fits our customer needs, all plant locations finishing, helping in the hiring process to find qualified managers for certain technical positions, and approving all color design manufacturing panels.

LacquerCraft -- Vice President of Technical Support/Finishing Operations. Zhe Jiang, China. May 2014-June 2016. I was responsible for all finishing operations which included: purchasing, equipment, color design, material warehouse and blending operations, company sop’s, finish QC, and technical training. I also support the team effort based on my overall furniture experience.

Blue Ridge Solvents and Coatings -- Technical Sales and Service Manager. Bassett, Virginia. August 2013-May 2014. I was responsible for all technical service for wood finishing accounts. I was also responsible for all new business in the wood finishing sector.

Markor Furniture International (MIBD) --Director of Finishing.

June 2012-February 2013. I was responsible for all finishing operations at Markor in Asia. Part of my duties was: color design, color panels, step panels, production, samples, outside vendor quality, and finishing cost control. While stationed in Tianjin, China, I was recruited by Markor to join their global team.

Global Independent Consultant. July 2009-June2012. I offered my services to companies. My services consisted of training managers in wood finishing, sanding issues, conducting spray schools, decal application, time management, color styling, plant productivity, etc. I did work for Sorrentino &Mariani in Norfolk, Va. and Maitland-Smith/Henredon in the Philippines.

Akzo Nobel Coatings – Account Sales & Service Manager.

Jiashan, Zheijiang, China. July 2007-March 2009. I was responsible for all sales and service for approximately 10 million plus USD in the Jiashan area. Managed complete area, labor, color development, cost control, etc. Customers working within this area include: Lacquercraft, Ming Long, De Cheng, and Passwell. US customers include: Legacy, UFI, MMD, JCP, Costco, and numerous European Market Customers.

Account Manager: August 1987-April 2000. Directed sales and color development for Bernhardt Furniture (April 1999-March 2000) and Hooker Furniture Company (August 1987-January 1999). Worked with domestic, contract and international sales.

Managed all phases of the finishing operation for casegoods, beds, dining and occasional tables. Accountable for 125 hourly employees, two salaried supervisors, five hourly supervisors, and department productivity.

Bassett Furniture Industries – Management Trainee. Bassett, Virginia. August 1975-August 1978. Completed an intensive training program in preparation for a career in furniture manufacturing. Spent time in all phases of the manufacturing process: rough end, machining, assembly, finishing and packing.
