Job Responsibilities

Review of Project Specification and Welding control procedure.

Witnessing PQR and WQT and preparing the documents of the same.

Ensuring that the welding equipments and machines are in proper condition and calibrated.

Checking whether the welding is done as per applicable WPS and that the qualifications of the welders are valid ID card.

Monitoring the fit-up, production welding and noting down the parameters and ensuring that the welding is done as per the WPS parameters.

Monitoring the welding consumables during the storage as well as usage.

Checking inter-pass cleaning and inter-pass temperature during welding.

Offering NDT for the completed joints.

Review of NDT Reports.

Monitoring Repair welding as per the procedure.

To recommend and analyze the weld repairs as per the applicable specifications.

To make proper records of the various stages of welding and inspection and maintain the documents as per the quality management system for proper traceability.

Doing visual inspection of completed joints and submitting daily welding inspection report.

Raising NCRs for the non-conformed items which are not following the specification.

In–charge of witnessing and reviewing documents for WPS, PQR and Welder qualification test.

Offering the NDT Inspection like RT, UT, MT, PT and hardness test after PWHT and verifying its results.

Weld joints inspection before, during and after welding.

Monitoring the welding activities as per project specification and procedure.

Witnessing welder qualification test and qualifying welders for different base metals, thickness and diameter ranges according to project specification and procedure.

Controlling assignment related to welding and consumables.

Reviewing Filler Wires and Electrodes of WPS according to ASME Section II, Part C and also checking while welding

Monitoring welding activities before, during and after welding operations.

Responsible for material receiving inspection and prepare reports.

Controlling the welding of joints according to Drawings and Checking diameter, Thickness, in welding Progress Report.

Carry-out Welding Visual Inspection and Preparing daily welder performance status.

Coordinating NDT activities, sub-contractors’ inspection activities, preparing and updating daily NDT and repair status.

Responsible for Welding repair Analysis.

Reviewing Welding Procedure Specification and Welder Qualification.

Checking and controlling of consumables used in welding to ensure compliance with WPS & Controlling Procedure.

Checking dimensions of materials to ensure that they are in compliance with requirement on thickness of plate / pipes.

Review Project Specifications.

Review of Inspection Test Plans and implementing inspection accordingly.

Responsible for maintaining records.

Ensure high operational standards and safe working of all personnel at all times.

Inspection of material and welding consumables as per Project Specifications.

Issue NCRs for violation found during inspection.

Periodic check on existing inspection equipment for safe, reliable and continued operation.
