C/o DR Sharma H2 Surendra Garden colony opp baghsavaniya Police station Bhopal MP Career Biography

I hold a PhD and also a post-graduate degree in Biotechnology from Jiwaji University, India. During my PhD program I worked on understanding the molecular epidemiology and transmission dynamics of Group A rotavirus in neonates from different species. I have more than a decade of biomedical research experience working in different capacities as Scientist B

(on contractual basis), and Senior Research Fellow in research laboratories of reputed institutes in India. I have the experience of working on Avian influenza in biocontainment suite (BSL3+ laboratory) in a high security laboratory. I have also co-authored several research articles, technical articles, conference proceedings, book chapters and NCBI GenBank submissions. Through my journey of research career and quest for scientific knowledge, I have gained technical expertise in various domains of modern biomedical scientific research.

Research Experience

PhD Research: “Molecular Characterization and Genotyping of Animal and Human Rotaviruses Isolates from Northern India”. In my research program I have worked on molecular epidemiology of circulating rotavirus A strains from neonates of different species including children and understanding the transmission dynamics. The work is significant breakthrough in public health perspective and prospect of developing of a rotavirus vaccine candidate.

MSc Research: “Cloning of alpha inhibin gene in a suitable cloning vector”. This was my first exposure to modern biotechnology and molecular biology techniques which inspired me to pursue a research career in biotechnology.

Scientist B (on contractual) at King’s George Medical University, Lucknow (U.P.), India. Senior research fellow at ICAR-National Institute of High security Animal Disease Laboratory, Bhopal, India- I worked as part of the technical team working on Avian virus surveillance from domestic and wild birds all over India as the lab is the only OIE referral lab of Avian influenza in India. I worked in BSL3+ suite, handling suspected clinical samples, processing them for nucleic acid extraction for confirmatory diagnosis by molecular methods. I also screened the samples by Haemagglutination test, Haemagglutination inhibition test. I passaged the positive samples in embryonated eggs and maintained the repository. Senior Research Fellow at Division of Virology, ICAR-Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Mukteswar, India- I was working in a NAIP (World Bank funded) project on identification and characterization of Toll like receptors (TLRs) in yak, mithun and hill cattle. We were the first research group to identify and characterize the TLRs from these unique species. We also worked on TLR transcript regulation in viral, bacterial and parasitic disease model.
