PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Product Design Engineer R&D Asst. Manager Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Co Ltd. India Sept 2017 - July 2019
Designed 90+ IM/VF (Plastics), Sheet metal components and assemblies using NX CAD tool for new products and released design data for Prototyping, RFQ & Final tool development, achieved 20 % lower 3F score, BOM cost & design lock targets.
Re-engineered 85 IM components for duplicate tooling by coordinating with toolmaker (China based vendors), manufacturing and quality team. Prepared SOPs to define assembly procedures. Released ECNs as a part of Product Lifecycle Management.
Designed and tested (prototype) Half-Shelf mechanism, Rotating bin mechanism, validated functional & design requirements.
Reduced BOM cost of currently marketed product, improved structural integrity, resulting in total saving of $400 k/yr.
Prepared FMEA, design review matrix to identify the probable failure modes, improving design quality & 3F score of products.
Standardized CAE reports for Plastic Snap design, Ribs design and orientation as a benchmarking data for future design references resulting in overall reduction of design and validation phase time.
Graduate Research Aide Prognostic Analysis and Reliability Assessment Lab Thesis Project ASU Jan 2020 - Present
Performed uniaxial random load fatigue test on Al-7075 with servo hydraulic, obtained experimental fatigue life results.
Formulated Mathematical time-based sub-cycle fatigue crack growth model for uniaxial and multiaxial loading and estimated fatigue life of a given specimen under constant and variable amplitude loading (Mode I and Mode II).
Estimated Intrinsic threshold stress intensity factor, using subcycle model, resulting in more accurate fatigue life prediction.
Facilities and Equipment Assistant School of Earth and Space Exploration - Rover Lab ASU Feb 2020 - Jan 2021
Designed concept CAD models in Solidworks for Moon Rover Suspension geometry and antenna, resulting in accurate estimation of component feasibility with current Motor combinations.
Performed structural analysis on suspension linkages & wheel assembly components, resulting in optimized design parameters.
Teaching Assistant MEE 323: Computer Aided Engineering-II (CAE) course Jan 2020 - May 2020
Assisted Professor in teaching FEA with ANSYS software by creating finite element models for standard example problems.
Hold office hours to alleviate students' doubts. Graded students’ assignments and project work.
ACADEMIC PROJECTS
Graduate Term paper & Projects:
Adaptive Cruise Control model for Autonomous Vehicle using Simulink ASU Tempe Aug 2020- Dec 2020
Built a Simulink model for Adaptive Cruise Control using MPC control block in Simulink to simulate acceleration dynamics of two cars (leading and following car). Model validation was done by creating multiple scenarios to analyse crash condition.
Statistical data analysis (wastewater data) using DOE techniques ASU Tempe Jan 2020- May 2020
Created 3 factor factorial design (23 design) and determined the effect on response variable (particle conc.) using JMP.
Used blocking and ANOVA technique to reduce the variability, satisfying model adequacy, resulting in robust expt. design.
Design & Analysis of Cabin Mounting Bracket using Probabilistic approach ASU Tempe Aug 2019- Dec 2019
Designed and optimized Cabin mounting bracket & estimated failure probability using variability propagation through design.
Obtained failure probabilities of brackets with different thicknesses, Validated by MC simulation & FORM method.
Design Optimization (Mass optimization) of Multi-Plate Friction Clutch Discs ASU Tempe Aug 2019- Dec 2019
Optimized set of multiple frictional clutch discs by considering effect of heat dissipation using response surface optimization and Design of Experiments principals (DOE). Validated results with standard Harley-Davidson bike clutch set.
Undergrad Project: FEA of Mode 1 delamination of fibre reinforced composite material VJTI Mumbai, India May-2017
