WORK EXPERIENCE

Multi Scale Energy Systems Lab, Research Assistant, UTA August 2019 – Present

Designed an electrodeposition process to grow novel metal hydroxide nanoforests by preparation of deposition medium.

Worked in a cross-functional team project to achieve improved gas seepage to find the substrate displacement.

Renault-Nissan Automotive, Manufacturing Engineering Intern, India. May 2018 - August 2018

Engaged in Continuous Improvement and followed the Six Sigma methodology to maximize throughput.

Optimized processes of Line A and B for Trim and Chassis shop and reduced the number of steps taken by operators by 18%.

Executed time studies to assess bottlenecks to find potential improvements and determined efficient sequence of operations.

Organized workflow to maximum efficiency and implemented corrective actions to resolve problems in the production line.

Planned Design Standard Time settings from the process operation sheet for the paint and sheet metal fabrication shop.

Performed Statistical Process Control techniques and process audit to the monitored processes to reduce process variation.

Implemented Lean Manufacturing tools like VSM and Block Allocation via Microsoft Excel to drive continuous improvement.

Performed time & motion and ergonomics studies to improve cycle time by enhancing overall employee efficiency by 12%.

Ashok Leyland, Industrial Engineering Intern, India. May 2017 - August 2017

Eliminated non-value-added activities and reduced scrap, lead Kaizen and 5S events and trained operators for Semi Knock Down Operations Improvement Project.

Updated BOMs and work instructions, analyzed and documented all workstation processes in the SKD Department.

Identified Root Cause (RCA) and implemented engineering change orders to evaluate and improve manufacturing processes.

Facilitated the installation of wheel balancing equipment in the kitting department and schedule equipment maintenance.

Authorized different wheel weights, reducing Work in Progress items in wheel balancing, saving 24 seconds per vehicle.

Planned layout and freed up 480 square feet of space by removing extra kitting bins for max utilization of production facility.

SAE Baja (SVCE), Steering Department Head, India. August 2016 - January 2018

Examined Steering geometry, created cost report, and presented a detailed report to describe design concepts and feasibility.

Designed, analyzed, and manufactured final roll cage models, A-arms using AutoCAD, Creo, and Ansys Workbench.

Conducted weekly meetings to plan next phase of work, approve designs, ensure manufacturability, and train new members.

Reduced the weight of ATV by coupling Dana H-12 Gearbox with CV Transmission and increased acceleration by 8.734%.

PROJECTS

Investigation of Design change for a Conveyor System:

Designed and developed a cost effective Screw Conveyor System for Martin Sprocket & Gear company to transport flour.

The preliminary design review established the Quality Function Deployment, product analysis, and Product Architecture.

Conceptual Design includes Manufacturing process selection, Design for manufacturing and Design for Assembly (DFA).

Designed product, part, and assembly drawings, perform cost analysis calculations (ROI), and performed RCA and FMEA.

Tool Life Enhancement of PCD1500 and TN4000 inserts on turning Al 2020 I/M Reinforced with 12% SiC Particles:

Studied the feasibility of machining Al 2020 for Aeronautical industry by using two inserts and investigated the best one

Optimized cutting parameters by testing properties of power consumed by main spindle, Tool wear, and Surface Roughness.

Design and Analysis of a Retainer Ring and a Compressor Reed Valve:

Designed a retainer ring of given specifications in Creo 5.0 and analyzed it for its Maximum stress endured in Abaqus 2018.

Selected a suitable material for a rational Factor of Safety of 1.58 and the same for a Compressor Reed Valve.

Investigation of Thermal enhancement techniques on Flip Chip BGA Package using Ansys Icepack:

Created the model of a typical flip-chip BGA in ANSYS Icepak and performed mesh sensitivity analysis.

Performed sensitivity analysis for max temperature on the die and plotted graph for “max temp on die” vs. “heat sink height.”

Part Manufacturing of a Brake Caliper:

Created 3D models, 2D drawings and assembly with GD&T of each part used in a brake caliper using AutoCAD and Creo.

Generated a report for manufacturing processes, material selection, process operation sheet and cost analysis for assembly.
