Achievements/Tasks

Design and development of New Product Development in PLM to meet social need

1. Compost Aeration Machine for Mushroom

Develop the machine which aerate the compost as well as add chemical and water into it.

Design the suspension system, steering mechanism, bucket elevator, trommel sieve, etc

Complete design calculation of chain & sprocket selection, capacity of conveyor, revolution of trommel sieve, steering force, suspension system.

Analysis of all the stressed part viz. chassis, sprocket shaft, elevator bucket, trommel frame etc 2. Lac Processing Machine

It is a manual lac separating setup which crushed the lac grown on the sticks.

It is ergonomically designed for tribal people which eliminates breakage of sticks and caused impurities in final product.

It has efficiently designed hopper and is portable, light weight, easy to operate. 3. Tamarind De-seeder

It is the innovative setup that separates the seed from the Tamarind pods.

Design and simulation the whole assembly in Solidworks.

Took the trials to achieve the maximum efficiency and greater output.

The main feature of the machine is that it is portable and light weight. The efficiency and productivity is very high. 4. Low cost Chironji Decorticator

We have developed the machine to decorticate Chironji fruit which have hard shell outside but very delicate fruit inside.

The main challenge we faced in project was it can de-shell only if force is applied at correct periphery.

It is a low cost mechanism which is useful for low income farmers and labours. 5. Design and Manufacturing of Feeding Mechanism of Roller grinding machine at SKF, Pune

In roller department of SKF Pune, rollers are directly shoots on collar of drum because of high speed pneumatic feeding system of rollers.

Because of this shooting, Drum collars gets damage and have to replace every year.

Studied current process and successfully replaced pneumatic feeding with CAM feeding mechanism Dear Talent Acquisition Team,

Currently I am working at National Innovation Foundation-India, an Autonomous body of Department of Science and Technology, GOI as Research and development Engineer. It is India’s National initiative to strengthen grass root innovation. NIF received ideas or innovations from all over India from which we select only novel and feasible ideas. We at NIF developed robust marketable products from these innovative Idea. After selecting the idea on the basis of feasibility and market potential, brainstorming session is conducted amongst the team to find out the mechanism, linkage and input & output parameter. Engineering hand calculations is performed including Motion design, load & power calculations and its distribution, analytical design validation along with material selection. The power output to each subsystem and dimensions is calculated with help of design calculation. A 3D part and assembly of design is developed using Solidworks considering DFM/DFA during its design process. Design validation of model is conducted using FEA tool to achieve great factor of safety in system. Prototype is develop to the scale for design validation of proof of concept. Design is converted into 2D drawing considering appropriate fits and tolerances using GD

& T technique. Estimation of cost and Bill of Material is prepared in Solidworks. NIF has set up an augmented Fabrication Laboratory (Fab Lab) for product development and strengthening in-house research. It has all basic fabrication facility as well as advance machinery which includes CNC VMC, laser welding, laser cutter, turning, Metal engraving, wood engraving machine, CNC Wirecut, 3D printers, etc for which NIF has given the training to operate these machines at IGTR-Ahmadabad as part of Skill Development Program. Apart from Product Development, I have also represents NIF on National level which boosts the communication skill and confidence. I have a Master’s Degree in Machine Design from Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute, Mumbai and Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Pune University. During my academics, I have acquired a very good technical foundation and apart from that certain modelling skill as well in CATIA, Solidworks, Creo.
