I have worked in the Albertan oil and gas industry as a Journeyman pipefitter since 2006 with 25 years+ experience in total, working with large and small-bore carbon and stainless steel piping in both field and shop. Typical duties include: assembly of piping on process and gas compressor packages in the assembly hall, laying out customer connections and pipe runs. Tack-up and fabricate socket welded small bore piping on skids from flow sheets and 3d models. Installation of screwed pipe on compressor and process packages: instrument air, drains, lube and oil seal piping. Assembly of butt-welded pipe spools using overhead crane and hand rigging. Other skills include, operation of hydraulic torquing equipment, hi-torque and rad-gun. Other duties include hydro-testing of spools and mechanically complete piping systems using water, nitrogen and compressed air.
