Replicon Administrator at Hamner-Jewell and Associates, November 21, 2016 to March 17, 2017

Administered the online Replicon application that tracks employee time, employee expenses, and project management. Diagnosed Replicon issues and arrived at solutions. Created a dozen reports, such as project status reports, from Replicon and formatted some of these reports in Excel automatically with macros. Completed a task list of 60 items. Created two Access databases. The job ended when the work ended.

Revised and developed complicated financial reports in several Access databases. Contracted through BCSI to Artesyn Solutions in Lincoln. Debugged and completed a data collection program in Access with a SQL Server 7.0 back end. Heavy coding in VBA and SQL stored procedures. Successfully completed the project in a much shorter time than anyone expected.

Contracted through Comdyn to County of Santa Barbara. Created Access program with extensive VBA coding to track permits, as well as to track employee performance in the permit approval process.

Contracted through NSP to Firemans Fund Insurance in Novato. Created Excel macros using VBA to create pivot tables and bubble charts dynamically based on user-selected criteria. Wrote 4000 lines of code in VBA.

Contracted through Trattner Network to MedAmerica in Oakland. Provided initial analysis, designed database structure, and developed Access application to track hospital and physician statistics. Used VBA code to construct SQL statements behind the scenes, making queries easier for the user. Interfaced Access with Excel.

Conversion Programmer at Bank of America, March 23, 1998 To August 26, 1998

Contracted through Chen & McGinley to Bank of America corporate offices in Concord. Converted Paradox and Excel costing analysis program to Access. Heavy on analysis, documentation and debugging. Co-workers expressed gratitude because they could now understand the "black box" of the old spreadsheets and programs.

Contracted through Comms People to Aegis Mortgage in San Francisco. Converted Lotus macros and spreadsheets to Excel VBA macros. Worked off-site part time.

Excel Programmer at Chevron, August 19, 1996 to January 17, 1997

Contracted through Gateway Group to Chevron in Walnut Creek. Designed an Excel program in VBA to interface with Business Objects. Created interface for user to choose selection criteria. Based on the selected criteria, the program extracted data from multiple tables on the server and created charts. Produced 200 pages of VBA code. Programmed every detail of the charts, using VBA, even down to such details as the color of one point on the chart.

Excel and Paradox Programmer at DataQuest, April 4, 1996 to August 9, 1996

Contracted through Application Resources to DataQuest in San Jose. Duties include:

Excel: Re-wrote Excel program in VBA to make it run faster and to create a friendly user interface. Reduced a 3-hour process to 15 minutes.

Paradox: Maintain and debug Paradox programs in DOS and Windows. Maintaining the Paradox programs involves tracking the use of over 50 tables and understanding the numerous queries performed upon them.

Excel Programmer at PG&E, March 27, 1996 to April 3, 1996

Contracted through Knauer Consulting to PG&E in San Francisco. Modified an Excel program that involved calculations and charting. Used VBA to control custom menus, calculations, and the appearance of the charts. The end result was added flexibility and functionality.

Excel Programmer at Anthem Health, July 1995 to March 26, 1996

Worked at Anthem Health in Sacramento. Maintained large physician database, working on mainframe, Excel, Access, and Paradox for Windows, transferring data back and forth between these programs. Highlights include:

Excel: imported Dbase, Paradox, and Access files, manipulated them within Excel using macros and VBA, producing visually pleasing reports. Devised a solution to running out of memory when using multiple dialog boxes, superior to Microsoft's own suggested solutions. Designed and completed several complicated Excel spreadsheets according to specs given by supervisor.

Access: queried large physician database according to different criteria such as tax identification number or medical specialty. Used macros and VBA code to control user interface.
