Senior Chemical Process Engineer with 10 years of experience in oil refinery process engineering. As a design and strategic studies engineer, I developed feasibility and conceptualization studies of projects such as the new vacuum system of distillation units in the CRP AMUAY refinery and the integration of naphtha units of the CRP AMUAY Refinery. I participated actively as a process engineer in different technical and multidisciplinary project and troubleshooting committees contributing with successful ideas. On the other hand, I implemented an energy losses monitoring scheme based on steam and fuel resulted in the diagnosis of improvement opportunities. I am currently working as a senior process engineer at hydrotreatent deparment of process engineer management.

I have experience in differences roles of refining area:

-Crude Oil distillation (atmospheric and vacuum): naphtha, jet fuel, asphalt, fuel oil production.

-Hydrotreating (Diesel and VGO): hydrogen production, amine treating, sour water treating and sulfur production (CLAUS process)

(2002-2008) “Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering”, ULA – “Universidad de Los Andes”.

(2018- currently) PDVSA / Senior Process Engineer in HDS and distillation and lubricants units.

Job description:

I’m in charge of the direction of a group of eigh engineers like to superintendent and I must evaluate with they, different aspects like to feasibility studies and conceptualization of projects, calculation of energy and mass balances, process simulation, sizing and design of lines, fired heaters, flares, heat exchangers, vessels, distillation columns, pumps and control valve, evaluation of relief systems, P&ID revision, energy monitoring and optimization (steam and fuel), participation in risks analysis, economic studies and cost analyses, performance evaluation of catalyst in hydrotreating, hydrogen and sulfur recovery units. Accomplishments:

Performed the hydraulic evaluation (reactors, lines, pumps, CV valves, fractionating columns, furnaces and heat exchangers).

Conducted the study of impacts on processing foreign VGO in the hydrotreating units of CRP

Performed the hydraulic evaluation of reactors operation test run.

Developed preventive maintenance plans for fired heater, boilers and preheat exchangers.

Represented as a process engineer during the multidisciplinary team of the diagnosis of current maintenance conditions in the CRP-Amuay towards the implementation of world-class maintenance.

Provided technical supporting during the FEED of new integration naphtha system projects.

Increased the run of HDS unit by installing a new recycle gas compressor with 4,95 MM$/annual saved.

I devolped studies for the operation of plants like to: amine treating, hydrogen reforming production, sour water treating and sulfur production (claus units).

Evaluation of performance of the new catalytic scheme *Ni/Mo-CoMo( from the hydrodesulfuration AMUAY units

(provide by HALDOR TOPSOE).

Knowledge in hydrogen production by steam reforming with catacarb absorption and PSA (pressure swing adsortion) with hydrogen purity of 95 – 99 %.

Developed crude’s feed scheme in AMUAY refinery to optimization of the run in the progman montly. Page 2 of 3
