Salt River Project

James worked with a leading national healthcare company to implement the PeopleSoft 9.2 Supply Chain ERP system. Modules of responsibility included ePro, IN, and PO. James performed business unit setup and configuration for IN, PO, and AP modules, as well as requester, business unit item, stock replenishment, PAR and workflow configuration for multiple hospitals across the United States. He worked with the conversion team and each hospital’s administrator to validate key conversion data. Additional areas covered were locations, ship tos, approval path setup and maintenance. James performed end user training as well as user acceptance testing across several hospital sites. Go lives were performed in waves where small teams would be onsite for pre-go live and post-go live support, setting up “job labs” where users could visit and get assistance with understanding how to utilize PeopleSoft as related to their normal, daily job duties. (July ’18 to Current)

James worked with a Sound Design and Distribution company in Southern California to upgrade their PeopleSoft Financials and Supply Chain ERP system from version 8.0 to 9.2. Modules included OM, IN, PO, AP, BI, and AR. While the primary modules of responsibility were Supply Chain, James worked with another team member to closely support the financials modules. James worked with the different functional areas to expand business processes to include new functionality and unused functionality. Some areas new to the client were Demand Priorities, Shortage and Fulfillment Workbenches, Online Requisitioning and Approval, Hold Code Processing, among many others. James assisted in establishing and conducting Environment Strategies, Fit/Gap Strategies, Testing Strategies, and Cut-Over Strategies. (Dec ‘17 to July ‘18)

James worked for a large Healthcare corporation helping convert inventory items from three separate legacy systems into PeopleSoft’s 9.2 Inventory module. This effort included working with executive management, purchasing/contracts directors and IT analytics support to ensure item data was correct and that required fields were populated for Item Loader processing. (Jan ’16 to June ’16)

James worked with a high-tech educational manufacturing and distribution company to setup international business units for sales transaction in multi-currency. This included the setup and configuration of Inventory, Manufacturing, and Engineering business units. This also involved the setting up of international products, assigning price and currency within Order Management and synching upstream updates to CRM. Setting up new catalogs in CRM was required to sync upstream pricing data to outside applications. James was in charge of testing and documenting the efforts. (Nov ’14 to June ‘15)

James worked with a high-tech company to help support a highly customized PeopleSoft system. James wrote SQL scripts to correct issues in their Order Management and Inventory modules that were hindering shipment of products to customers. James also had to write functional specs for enhancements required by business users. Users many times required training, documentation and personal instruction for existing and new enhancements and business processes. (Oct ’13 to Nov ‘14)

James worked with a large electric power cooperative analyzing “current state” process flows, then designing, configuring and documenting “future state” process flows. Users were to utilize ePro requests that were to be sourced from inventory first, then fulfilled and replenished, creating purchasing requisitions for replenishment and non-stock items. Client was not using delivered functionality and required assistance in configuration and business process design. (May ’13 to Jun ’13)

James worked with a merchandising company to perform a “pain points” analysis of each step of users’ business processes. Users’ daily activities were observed while noting “pain points’, bottle-necks, and process flows. James documented these “pain points”, system configurations, customizations and integrations to outside applications. The document provided to the client listed each “pain point’, discussed configurations and customizations, and summarized all findings with recommendations to the client for improvements. (Apr ’13 to May ’13)

James worked with a large hospital implementing their PeopleSoft Inventory module version 8.9. James primary role in this pre-implementation period was integration lead between PeopleSoft Inventory and AtPar handheld scanning device software. James performed unit and regression testing on new service packs and manual fixes from AtPar as well as documented each type of handheld transaction at the sql statements level between AtPar and PeopleSoft. (Feb ’09 to April ‘11)

James was transitioned to the on-site implementation team implementing PeopleSoft in “waves” throughout Northern California, Hawaii, and Oregon. James was asked to be the site lead on several waves, performing pre-go live activities, go-live scheduling and activities, and post production stabilization. (May ’11 to Dec ‘12)

James worked with an international electric transmission company upgrading their PeopleSoft Inventory and Purchasing modules from 8.8 to the latest 9.0 version. Purchase requests were sourced from inventory to maximize on-hand stock and keep stock levels to low and manageable levels. James worked with the client to redesign business processes utilizing the shortage workbench to gain efficiencies in order fulfillment. (May ’08 to November ’08)

James worked with a global educational software manufacturing and distribution company implementing Order Management, Inventory, and Purchasing. Sales orders were integrated from Contracts and CRM into Order Management and fulfilled through Inventory. Alternate Sources of Supply functionality was used, procuring drop-shipped items and pegging them to purchase orders in Purchasing. James worked with the client to configure all three modules and desired functionality. James led discovery sessions to assist the client in

designing new business processes as well as functional “work-arounds” to minimize software modifications. (January ’08 to May ‘08)

James worked with a global electronics manufacturing and distribution company implementing Order Management and Inventory fulfillment functionality in a pre-existing 8.9 environment. James assisted the client with interactive design and prototyping sessions, helping define resolution options for requirements and gaps. James also assisted the client in documenting critical business process flows in order to determine a software design strategy. (June '07 to October '07)

James worked internally for a large, global manufacturing company in upgrading their PeopleSoft Distribution modules from a heavily customized 8.0 version to 8.9. James performed fit/gap sessions, performed “playground” environment configuration, recommended gap resolutions, and designed and tested system modifications. Some modification designs include Product Lead Days, Date Synchronization, Use-Up Logic. All duties were performed while simultaneously providing production support for current 8.0 version. (October '05 to June '07)

James has completed a rigorous 8-week implementation workshop (Boot Camp) covering the Oracle 11.5.10 E-Business Suite Applications: Inventory Management, Engineering, Material Requirements Planning, Work in Process, Manufacturing Scheduling, and Cost Management. (August '05 to October '05)

James worked internally with the development and strategy group to learn, test and document the new Enterprise Supplier Contract Management product set to be released for version 8.9 in August of 2005. James worked with a fellow consultant to learn the functionality of this new product as well as generate several key documents to be used by sales and consulting. (May '05 to July '05)

James worked with a large hospital two months prior to go live to create training and business process documents for version 8.8 Inventory and Purchasing modules. James worked with the business process owners to document business processes. Upon documentation of the business processes, training documents were designed to walk end users through the established processes in the new PeopleSoft/Oracle modules. (March '05 to May '05)

James worked with an electric utility company creating functional conversion and interface specifications for PeopleSoft’s supply chain management, version 8.8. During this implementation, James worked with the client to design and create the specifications for conversions from existing legacy systems to PeopleSoft. James also worked with the client to design and create the specifications for interfaces between existing legacy systems and PeopleSoft SCM modules. This work effort included data mapping, assistance on technical specifications, and testing. (August '04 to March '05)

James worked with a manufacturing company implementing the new 8.8 Order to Cash process. During this implementation, James performed basic configuration and setup for the three listed modules. Price lists and multiple-level price rules were set up, as well as the accounting for each price adjustment. Custom “product rotation” was designed using a combination of the delivered alternates and catalog functionality, along with a system modification. This “product rotation” is used when selling to large retail distributors. EDI documents such as inbound PO, outbound invoice, outbound pick list, and inbound confirmation/shipping documents were a main focus. (February '04 to June '04)

James worked with an insurance company in the upgrade from version 7.5 to 8.4. James was responsible for the creation of business requirements documentation, conducting fit/gap processes and documentation between existing customization and delivered 8.4 functionality, validating Order Management and Inventory configuration, creating business process recommendation documents, and troubleshooting of various Purchasing issues. (November '03 to January '04)

James worked with a manufacturing company demonstrating version 8.4 Order Management functionality during a proof of concept phase. This demonstration required general setup and configuration of pricing rules and sets, customer credit, customer and product messages, manual and system holds, as well as reservation and inventory stock levels. (October '03 to November '03)

James worked with a large hospital helping them test and prepare for an upgrade to the new service pack for v 8.4. In doing so, James identified critical areas of testing, created specific test scenarios to match key business processes, conducted testing, and documented/reported test results. James also identified and tested possible future business process expansion such as PAR and PAR replenishment. (July '03 to September '03)

James worked with a manufacturing company implementing version 8.4, acting as pre and post go-live support for the following modules; Order Management, Inventory, Purchasing, and Billing. During this implementation James created documentation of business requirements, analyzed and corrected the Order Management business unit configuration for their subsidiary company, created training documentation, conducted training in all listed modules, and assisted in the design and testing of various modifications and custom reports. James worked with a global manufacturing company assisting in the finalization of configuration and setup for the Order Management and Billing modules. He also created documentation explaining UOM conversion setup and invoice layout and form relationships.

James resolved several problems/issues by suggesting new business processes that would utilize delivered functionality. Another issue was resolved with a minor modification to and existing field. James also assisted in finalizing Order Management test scripts for the client. (August '01 to October '01)

James assisted a technology software company in the fit/gap process for the Inventory and Order Management products. James analyzed and reviewed business scenarios, analyzed and reviewed business requirements, presented scenarios during fit/gap sessions, and compiled final fit/gap documentation. Demonstrations were also required for both Order Management and Inventory. (April '01 to June '01)

James worked with a telecommunications to establish requirements for, document functionality, and help design proposed modifications for the new Shipping Containers feature. Utility Company, Purchasing Project Manager - Salt River Project

James was the project manager responsible for the company-wide rollout of the procurement card program for a utility in the southwestern United Sates. He also was the lead individual in the development and implementation of an in-house reconciliation system for the procurement card program. James recruited, trained and developed training materials for testers of the new reconciliation system as well as end users of the procurement card program.
