Reduced the budgeted medical costs for 2018 by $600K; this was accomplished by redesigning and realigning all the various medical insurance plans in the US.

Nestlé Business Services (NBS) AOA, Manila, Philippines

NBS is a global shared service model that provides the HR processing and support for the employees within Nestlé North America (50,000 + employees). NBS has a hub in Solon, OH, while the processing and call center is located of shore. In 2013, the Service Center moved to the Philippines from Costa Rica.

Initially planned as a 90-day assignment to assist the during the “go-live” period, (“go live” date – Feb 2013) but evolved into a transfer to Manila, Philippines in order to provide the direct guidance and ground support needed to stabilize and drive success of the new business.

I was responsible for the overall operations, to include the three functional business streams (i.e., call center, payroll processing and HRIS data management).

Improved customer service by focusing on continuous improvement in the areas of process, quality, cost and speed of service by using Lean tools and methodologies.

Pet food production plant, 24/7 operations with 250 employees; 80% of the population are part of the Operating Engineers labor union.

Redesigned the training and qualification program that was in place in the production area in order to increase the level of efficiency as well as decrease the level of injuries and waste.

Steel can production plant, 24/7 operations with 150 employees; 90% of the population are members of the United Steel Workers Labor Union.

Improved safety culture by successfully negotiating a zero-tolerance drug policy with labor union.
