Summary

(Research mentor and mental health professional, August 2020 to present) Working as a mentor and freelance psychologist on a research advocacy project with Antahakarana group. Critically analysing various mental health laws and policies of the Central government and preparing research reports. Co-ordinating with a team of research mentors from the legal and psychological field. Guiding interns regarding the various steps in research. Conducted a training session for all the interns on

Civil Hospital - Panchkula, Haryana

(Internship training, October 2019 to December 2019) Worked as an intern/trainee with the ‘district mental health program’ team of district Panchkula (Haryana) comprising of two psychiatrists, a clinical psychologist, a psychiatric social worker and a team of community nurses. During the internship I accompanied the team for various community outreach programs to primary health centers, community health centers, schools and orphanages, for psycho- education and case identification. Participated in meetings for family self-help groups to psycho-educate caregivers and support groups of mentally ill individuals. Overlooked conduction of case history and Mental Status Examinations of out-patients, and observed pre-discharge counselling sessions and sat in for follow up therapy sessions for in-patients in the psychiatric and de-addiction ward of the hospital. Observed and assisted in assessments for IQ, disabilities and other mental disorders.

Observation-ship at Ivy Hospital, Mohali

Observed and dealt with patients in a hospital setup under the supervision of the in-house psychiatrist in a multi-specialty hospital. Observed conduction of case history and Mental Status Examination of patients under the guidance of the psychiatrist.
