Wrong Way Driving Detection in Existing CCTV Cameras (Iowa DOT-funded project)

• Developed and containerized two deep model pipelines (including DeepStream and YOLO+SORT) to detect and track of the vehicles in multiple CCTV camera streams on real-time basis

• Managed and distributed incoming stream data from detection model for more than 10 cameras using Kafka and Spark Streaming

• Trained an unsupervised model (combination of Gaussian Mixture Model and SVM) to recognize correct direction of each point of the road and detect bands of the road

• Trained a model to detect anomaly driving trajectories and wrong-way driving

Construction Equipment Detection in Work Zone

• Trained a deep model including SSD and Mobilenet for real-time object detection and classification in work zone

• Implemented TensorRT to optimize the model

• Tested different embedded systems, such as Jetson Tx2, Raspberry Pi 3B+ and intel NCS, for running the trained model and compared inference speed and accuracy on these systems

Maneuver detection in the roads by mounted cameras on vehicle using deep learning and inference at the edge

• Developed Nvidia DeepStream model to detect and track of vehicles in videos from mounted cameras on farm equipment

• Presented a distance estimation model based on the multi-view geometry principle

• Trained a machine learning model to classify status of following vehicles as back-off, following or proceeding

Low Quality Images enhancement to improve object detection in severe weather condition

• Produced large amount of driving data using an open source driving simulator (CARLA)

• Introduced normal noise with random STD to each clean image as representative of rain or snow
