Responsibility: Is to ensure that adequate support and flexibility are provided to avoid overstressing of piping and to limit reactive load on sensitive equipments. All critical piping systems to be analyzed and qualified as per the requirements of ASME B31.1/ASME B31.3/B31.8. Equipment critical lines that are connected to Pumps, Compressors, Turbines, Air Cooled Heat Exchangers, Fired heaters etc. to be qualified to limit the nozzle reactions as per the norms given in API 610, API 617, NEMA SM23, API 661, PI 560, ASME, DNV, ABS Guides, BS and UKOOA codes respectively. Design, selection and preparation of specification for various types of Expansion joints, Variable and Constant Effort Spring Supports are also part of stress analysis duty. The software being used for stress analysis is CAESARII. Also familiar K-Pipe and Auto Pipe Programs, very much familiar with, PDS PDMS and ANSYS, Strong Interpersonal skills, interact with all groups.Field Experience.

Detailed analysis of pressure vessel nozzles and support structures using other finite element stress analysis tools like FEMAP and CAEFM also are part of my responsibility. This analysis requires detailed stress analysis per ASME B&PV code Section VIII Div 2 rules. For European customers we use EN codes such as EN12952 and EN13445 for to demonstrate the design life (fatigue life). Responsible for analysis of piping Systems for Exxon Mobil’s Beaumont Texas Combined Cycle Power plant. Was involved in the piping analysis of Madison Wisconsin Simple Cycle plant, Baytown Texas Exxon Mobil Combined Cycle power plant, BECO Power plant in Boston, Des Moine Power Plant in Iowa etc. Also worked on FCC plants, Hot oil, cryogenic, and High-pressure Steam.

Major achievements which resulted in cost savings for the company:

Development of computerized analysis tools for design life evaluation.

Derivation of closed for equations for complicated header supporting arrangements to evaluate their stiffness to be used in piping analysis.
