PhD Thesis Study of Aero-elastic Interference, VIV and Reliability IIT, Delhi
• To study the response of tall structures like power-plant chim- neys under the wind load, experimentally as well as numerically.
• Wind tunnel is used for experimental studies.
• For numerical analysis, FEM (ANSYS Mechanical APDL) is used.
• CFD (ANSYS FLUENT) is used to observe the fluid flow field.
• Fatigue life is estimated using Palmgren-Miner rule and Rain- flow counting method.
• Through stochastic FEM, the uncertainty related to the re- sponse is studied using NESSUS.
• Data obtained is analyzed using MATLAB.
