Classification of Oligonucleotide Sequences 2020

Analytics Experience, Department of Business Analytics, University of Iowa

• Consulted with the DNA manufacturing company Integrated DNA Technologies under the supervision of Jim Chaffee to gain business insights from a dataset of 9M+ customer order records.

• Performed a sliding window analysis to recognize reoccurring sequence patterns in DNA orders and identify trends in customer ordering behavior.

• Derived a multi-class classification model for labeling custom oligonucleotide orders as one of six predefined product lines to better understand revenue breakdown by product.

Twitter Sentiment Analysis 2020

Social Analytics, Department of Business Analytics, University of Iowa

• Applied text processing techniques to Twitter data to perform a sentiment analysis on tweets related to the implementation of distance learning that occurred as a result of COVID-19.

• Calculated polarity and subjectivity scores of tweets and discovered underlying themes in Twitter conversation surrounding distance learning by applying topic modeling methods.
