Duties featured developing custom order designs and/or upgrading the Emergency Safety Shower systems product line, offering a range of configurable alternatives. Options include: indoor and extreme weather outdoor units; differing water supplies spanning water heater tanks, tank-less water heaters or facility-based water systems; re- circulating equipment; booster pumps; and different unit voltages. Developed the Bill of Materials for each order/design, as well as helping to qualify suppliers and part quality.

• Scope of work included: 3D piping and instrumentation drawing/layouts; connection to skid platforms; strut support assemblies; fastening and weldment calculations; sheet metal fabrication; motors and pumps. Also, selected control panels, fuse and wire size calculations; and electrical schematic and wiring diagrams.

• Teamed in consolidating the line into 11 base models most commonly requested by customers. Maintained fast-paced balance between design improvement projects and fulfilling the drawings for customer orders.

• Identified several design improvements, e.g. proper sizing between the filter screen and its flow switch.

• Partnered with Purchasing, Engineering and Manufacturing in design-driven cost reductions, integrating new suppliers, obsolete part replacement and labor saving process improvements.
