PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

Achievements in Vanguard for the last 5 months:

As a Scrum Master I work with IIG Business and manage and deliver their portfolio of Data Engineering and Machine Learning Projects.

I set up the Jira board that displays issues from one or more projects in columns that represent the team's process. It provides the team with a shared view of all work that hasn't started, work that is in progress, and work that is completed along with the impediments and roadblocks that needs immediate attention.

Scrum and Kanban Boards were set up for -Data Science & Machine Learning; Tech Debt; Business as Usual (BAU); VCATS -Distribution Layer Re-engineering projects thus transitioning the whole team of 17+ members from an excel sheet to an efficient Jira board.

There are two types of boards that were set up

Scrum boards:

Manage stories, tasks, and, and bugs in sprints. Suits teams that deliver work on a regular schedule

Kanban boards:

Manage stories, tasks, and bugs in a continuous flow. Suits teams who control work volume from a backlog

Agile project management is an iterative approach to managing software development projects that focuses on continuous releases and incorporating customer feedback with every iteration. Software teams that embrace agile project management methodologies increase their development speed, expand collaboration, and foster the ability to better respond to market trends.

REPORTING AND COMMUNICATION OF STATUSES AND WORK PROGRESS to the Engagement Leads, Managers.

Establish roles, responsibilities and resources: ensure I 've got enough resources for the amount of work and use resource management panes to avoid under-/over-allocation of resources.

Monitor project progress: use progress bars to monitor progress from sub-task to epic levels.

Identify milestones: milestones are moments of truth; accomplishments that teams should achieve on or ahead of schedule.

Find and report problems: locate real, threatening problems using the Gantt chart and use critical path functionality to identify tasks that will affect the project's completion date.

PROCESS IMPROVEMENTS through bi-weekly Retrospectives:

Retrospectives help in process improvement and improvise the quality and also efficiency of work. A retrospective reflects on the past to improve the future. Between technical and non-technical teams, you can retro on just about anything! Retrospective is an opportunity for the Scrum Team to inspect itself and create a plan for improvements to be enacted during the next Sprint.
