I relocated to Oregon from Hawai`i to attend to family matters, which have now been concluded. My communication and listening skills are an integral part of most jobs where I have excelled. In my current and past employment, I have been required to speak with and write to diverse groups, with whom I must communicate unfamiliar complex concepts. These parties are often seeking guidance or problem resolution strategies, which I gladly perform. Moreover, I have handled and completed oversite on complex commercial litigation for more than 25 years at State, and Federal levels. I am an experienced negotiator, aided by completing numerous mediation courses at Pepperdine University’s Straus Institute and The Mediation Center of Hawai`i.
The matters that I have previously handled include securities, antitrust, commercial foreclosures, real estate, loan defaults, torts, and all manner of contract claims. I have also dealt with The City of Honolulu and the State of Hawai`i, regarding licensing, and tax assessments. I am familiar with tax reviews as I am eligible to sit for the CPA, CFA, and CTP exams.
Currently, I am running a small business with several employees/contractors working in varying capacities.
I have been involved with several small business startups such as United Bankruptcy Services, Purveyors Liquidation, and Recovery Services Incorporated. These firms were regularly retained by secured creditors in an expert capacity to perform various analysis and oversight. I have worked as a plan administrator and as the liquidating agent for organizations that had substantial assets. In this capacity, I supervised attorneys and accounting firms to identify then recover assets. We distributed the funds to creditors and reported to the court on case status along with distributions. We were regularly appointed as the disbursing agent in Chapter 7 and 11 cases. In turn, I worked closely with court-appointed trustees in the pursuit of preference matters. Throughout my life, I have been known as a quick learner who thrives on challenges through change management and brings the experience that would benefit your firm.
