My Work Biography
My working career began immediately after I matriculated in 2007. I worked a
Vodacom Phone Shop in my home town Matatiele (Eastern Cape) to save money for
me to pay for my registration the following year. I then enrolled at the Walter Sisulu
University in East London after managing to save up enough money to study
tourism management. I have always wanted to study a course in tourism because I
have always been good at narrating stories. I always wanted to be the one who
would tell South African stories to the people who visit our beautiful landmarks and
sights around the country.
In between the university breaks I would work at Boxer stores in my home town as a
means to get myself through the course. Whilst studying I got elected as a
chairperson for the School of Tourism and Hospitality. I also volunteered National
Tourism Careers Expos, which take place annually. I eventually graduated in 2012
and I did an internship at Eastern Cape Parks and Tourism agency and this
experience helped me graduate. I then found myself looking for work but jobs were
hard to come by in tourism. I then got a job at KFC in East London to help me get by.
I then decided to do my B-Tech in 2017 in a bid to help boost my qualifications to
increase my chances in getting work. With my persistence and perseverance I was
able to graduate with my B-Tech in 2018. I am still working at KFC in East London
and I am still looking for better opportunities in my field that I am very passionate
about. I define myself as a hard worker, go getter, a talented person who can sell productsand places and I believe that I can be an asset to any institution that I represent.Your consideration of my abilities will be dearly appreciated.
