During my nursing years at CAMC while my assigned pool of nursing was the Pediatric Unit of a 48 bed 0-12 age group, I within this time was also actively nursing on newborn nursery area, NICU areas and PICU units. I challenged self and rose on our career ladder to the rank. I was an active participant in our units investigational nursing group and I authored our units “Orientation Guide” to our unit for parents of our patients. I also researched and authored our maintained crash cart and procedure rooms’ equipment. I was an active mentor to new orientees and served as a temporary charge nurse as needed. I was also a pioneer member of a new pediatric trauma unit. I was PALS and NALS certified.
In my present 18 years at UHC, I have sought every new role the nurses could tackle. I have been an active mentor to all new staff. I participated in a chosen mentor program. I have been honored as a Sage nominee and been a Heroh award winner. I am active in all our committee’s at our site leading many of our activities as team lead. I belong to our employee engagement team, community council, and quality teams. I have had perfect attendance during my employment at UHC.
This past year I was chosen to be a team member of a pilot program as a case manager type nurse for a dedicated group of AARP members in Texas. This chosen group of 10 nurses, enrolled members into the program and reached at least monthly via telephone to assess current health needs and concerns; also psychosocial needs or at times just to talk. We identified areas and carried through by phone to get resources to resolve any identified needs. This was a very rewarding nursing experience not just for me as a nurse learning case management but my members were all very open and receptive to me.
I also recently worked a contract position with West Virginia Medical Institute doing a quality audit program for the American Cardiac Association. This was a newer experience for me as a nurse doing chart auditing. I am a quick learner and had completed my charts all expeditiously per their recommendations.
I am currently licensed as a registered nurse in the states of AZ, CA, CT, GA, IA, MN, MS, NV, OH, OK, PA, SD, TX, WA, WY and WV.
I am able to work in any computer program as I have done some type of computer based nursing for the last 14 years.
I appreciate the opportunity of you viewing my resume as I seek another avenue of nursing employment.
Thank you,
