Job Description and Responsibilities:
Attends to all adult, pediatric, and neonatal patients in respiratory or cardiac arrest as well as performs cardiopulmonary resuscitation and emergency airway care.
Monitor patients hooked in any mechanical life support in all Adult, Pediatric and Neonatal Critical Care Units and coordinates with the physician for any parameter adjustments and institutes the prescribed changes
Provides cardiopulmonary care services to patients in accordance with the physician’s order and the Pulmonary unit’s policies and procedure being designated to critical care units and responsible for special procedures.
Oversees the daily operations of the Pulmonary Department to ensure efficient and effective management services
Oversees special procedures performed by Respiratory Therapists I and II
Documents accurately on the pulmonary treatment, patient response, and any reaction to treatment, adverse or otherwise.
Troubleshoots and manages mechanical ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP machines.
Disinfects all used mechanical ventilators, pulse oximeters, & pulmonary property equipment.
Assists in orientation and perception of new employee and intern as assigned.
May lead a cross-functional team in projects addressing patient care management
Guides employee actions by implementing and updating department’s policies, procedures, methods and guidelines.
Plans, develops, implements, and facilitates the timely follow through of the technical training and professional enhancement of direct reports; ensures that they are able to gain technical knowledge and skills necessary to efficiently perform their duties in order to gain career progression within Chong Hua Hospital
Performs patient assessment, monitors data and communicates this to the healthcare team in writing via the appropriate procedural forms.
