Shrinivasan Govender
I am a Logistics professional with extensive experience in Warehouse and Materials Management. Currently, I hold the position of Head of Site Logistics for MHI Power
(Mitsubishi) at the Medupi Power Project. In this challenging role, I am responsible for the management and timely supply of all Materials, Commodities, Plant, Equipment and Tools. This includes the logistics management of over 6 million unique parts stored in 4 Warehouses and 20 Laydown Areas On-Site. I am also actively involved in Material Requirements Planning, Scrap Reclamation and Asset sales.
I have successfully implemented new procedures to improve inventory accuracy and supply cycle time to Construction, bringing KPI’s from 80% to 95%. My constant review of Costs has resulted in the reduction of R5 million in wastes per annum. I have also successfully rolled out the scanning and tagging system for the project. Working in a dynamic project has honed my skill in Warehouse optimizing, identifying redundancies, reducing costs, while still maintaining operational effectiveness. I possess the CR 8.7 Construction Supervisor legal appointment certification
(Safety). I also have a Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics and Diplomas in Practical Accounting and Stock Control.
Specialties: Staff and Subcontractor management, Warehouse and Materials Management and Purchasing.
