Duties:
1Technical and administrative lead for the laboratory department ensuring effective and efficient discharge of duties by other staff of the department and lead periodic meetings where issues affecting the department are deliberated
2Take overall responsibility for quality assurance, quality improvement and corrective actions within the department.
3Continuous mentoring of Laboratory staff to ensure good laboratory practices and taking programmatic responsibility of overall smooth running of ART laboratory.
4Conducting step-down trainings on sample collection, equipment use, maintenance etc.
5Preparation and prompt sending of bimonthly report as well liaise with the state laboratory specialist and state logistic officer to avoid stock-out.
6Proper commodity management using FEFO and redistribution principle to avoid expiries.
7Maintain active participation in the Internal and External quality assurance programs by ensuring timely panels analysis and submission, interpretation of PT results to staff and taking corrective actions when necessary.
8Prepare the quality manual for the department which is a quality document.
9Write SOPs and ensure that they are reviewed when due as well ensure compliance according to the quality manual.
10.Educate team mates on quality issues and any change in the quality manual or SOPs. Receive, store and manage HIV test kits and other laboratory reagents.
11.Issue and monitor HIV test kits utilization in the facility as well as data collection.
12.Step-down training on proper use of documentation tools.
10Mentor and supervise staff of the facility on HIV testing and councelling as well as logistic management
11Prompt preparation of monthly/bimonthly report and also place emergency order when needed.
12Maintenance of temperature chat to ensure that the appropriate storage is maintained.
