Supported FedEx custom applications.

Break/fix support for all programs, systems issues, and network failures related to supported applications. I would identify issues, determine the root cause and create/install a resolution, follow up on resolutions and communication between management, users and customers.

Problems that were from network/server failures, data communication failures, user mistakes, system upgrades, errors trickled from other applications that resulted in data fixes, code, development of new applications, or new system monitoring.

Provided applications support to field, internal and external customers. 3rd level help ticket responder to the entire internal customers in the United States. This included all US stations, drivers, and independent contractors. External customer support; external customers would directly contact me via phone, email or the operational support group when data failed to be sent/received correctly to internal/external server.

Developed:

Created several databases in MS Access and Oracle that were used as data storage for front end applications I wrote. These data bases were on local user machines and/or network server. These databases were used for asset management, asset tracking and help desk support system.

I organized and managed projects by gathering business requirements, database and software design, data and code conversion, coded the applications, created and tested with QA and users, got management and user approvals, deployed the applications to beta sites, created deployment schedules and did post implementation follow-up.

The databases and software applications were used to keep track of all field handheld equipment such as scanners/printers/batteries, equipment asset tracking when equipment moved from vendors to stations and to repair centers, equipment location usage that would confirm equipment location and determine if there was a location or theft issue, call support help desk for field users of handheld equipment, address correction when addresses where incorrectly listed in databases, postcards sent to customers when drivers were not able to locate address, and holiday package diversion between the FedEx Ground and FedEx Home Delivery network to ensure that neither network was overload with too many packages that couldn’t be delivered on time.

Researched:

Completed Cost Analysis for hardware such as servers and printers.

Provided Proof of Concept for hardware and software by coordination with vendors, and presented findings/recommendations to management.

Lead:

I was the project lead that created and upgraded applications that monitored equipment usage to determine if equipment was lost or stolen. This lost/stolen project saved the company and estimated 22 million in the first year of application implementation. The application is still pivotal in preventing lost and theft and continues to save millions in equipment.

The package diversion project prevents loss of customers by moving packages to be delivered from the Ground network to the Home Delivery network and vice versa. This kept the on-time delivery rate during the holidays at the project goals of over 98% on time. This meant not only keeping the on-time goals but allowed management to determine if the network would be able to provide service to packages that weren’t in the original expected delivery numbers. This project allowed management to forecast package numbers and determine if new business could be added and guaranteed the same quality of service.

Project lead in scanner software upgrade was to allow packages to be scanned from a competitive company such as US Post Office and deliver that package to the customer. These scanners had new internal coded added, that needed tested and deployed to all US field stations. I managed the coding team, kept them on schedule, worked with external QA testing group, worked and created schedule for the deployment team. Currently if a package is sent via FedEx but is found to be cost efficient to have US Post Office deliver, this code will add the package details into FedEx database but also sent that delivery information to Post Office.

I coordinated users, programmers, external vendors and customers through formal and informal meetings to achieve service level agreements, using best practices, company rules and SOX compliance to provide best value for the company.

I organized projects, lead meetings, created schedules and goals to define Business Area requirements. Coordinated project staffing, funding allocation, project reporting, project administrative duties, programmer coding, and finalized of projects.

Agile environment using 2-3 week sprints I was scrum master for the scrum team for iterations.
