DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assessing, planning, developing, implementing and evaluating programs for promoting well-being and health and preventing adverse effects on them.
Give full attention on the safety of the patient for this is the main concern of the doctor as well as the nurse.
Inspect the expiration of the sterile instruments and re-sterilized as needed.
Providing information and advising on medication regimens, interactions, and side effects.
Taking accurate and comprehensible notes regarding patient’s consultations and treatments.
Consulting, providing advice, and information about various health conditions or any minor ailments, referring them to other practice team members as necessary.
Coordinating with physicians and other healthcare professionals for creating and evaluating customized care plans.
Maintaining reports of patients’ medical histories, and monitoring changes in their condition.
Carrying out the requisite treatments and medications.
Checking the stock on a regular basis for maintaining the inventory level, and placing orders if required.
Adhering with the protocols, norms, rules and regulations in order to maintain complete medical records.
Maintaining hygienic and safe working environment in compliance with the healthcare procedures
Providing necessary guidance on health maintenance and disease prevention.
Preparing rooms, and decontaminating equipment and instruments.
Educating patients’ families about the disease and its treatment.

Job Description:
Clinical Practice:
Provides direct patient care utilizing the nursing process within established hospital, divisional and unit specific policies and procedures, standards and protocols.
Demonstrate knowledge and clinical assessments skills appropriate to clinical area.
Takes direct and appropriate action in urgent and emergency situations.
Documents all assessments, interventions and other pertinent information in the patient’s health care record in a timely and ongoing manner.
Promotes continuity of patient care through oral and written communication.
Demonstrates effective communication and collaboration skills when interacting with patients/families, other health care team members and staff of other departments.
Administration:
Addresses issues using a problem-solving framework, Initiates the nursing or medical/administrative chain of command if unable to resolve issues satisfactorily.

Specific Functions:
Assists patient who undergo examination procedures such as x-ray etc.
Collect specimen such as urine, stool, sputum and bring them to the laboratory.
Insert IV and follow its protocol.
Insert urinary catheter and follow its protocol.
Assist in the application of orthopaedic back slab and cast.
Assist the Doctor during tenotomy.
Checks and monitor IV fluids.
Administer oxygen inhalation as per physician order.
Medical terminology and medication administration skills.
Charting and documentation of patient care.
Unite the doctors round and assist the doctor in preparing patients for treatment.
Records assessment, intervention and evaluation of nursing care.
Provide antenatal and postnatal care and support to women and their babies.
Assisting Doctor’s in collecting vaginal swabs, IUCD removal and ultrasound.
Educate clients and caregivers about the importance of immunization, following the recommended immunization schedules, possible side effects of immunization and after care.
Draws up vaccines according to manufacturer’s instructions and administers them safe and proper techniques and system of double check to ensure accuracy.
Completes appropriate client and clinic records to ensure correct vaccines are administered and documented.
Knowledge of microbiology, infectious diseases such as H1N1 and MERS COV. Sterilization and disinfection, medication, vaccines and antibiotic usage.
Collect nasopharyngeal swabs specimen with appropriate personal protective equipment such as mask, gown and gloves.
Educate individuals and groups about the risk, prevention, transmission and control of infection, disease specific care, appropriate precaution and assessment.
