• JOB FUNCTION: Compliance Monitoring:

o Review of compliance training, due diligence and risk review in line with the compliance program.

o Review of policies, procedures and monitoring implementation of standards. o On site compliance checks and review on account documentation and ensures regulatory compliance of branches with respect to AML/CFT. o Preparation of report to the chief executive officer and board on regulatory issues and adherence to the AML/CFT compliance program.

o Daily risk based customer transaction monitoring on high risk accounts. o Review of Newly Opened accounts against blacklisted names. o Monitoring and review of wire transfers against blacklisted names, country, vessels and territories (Sanction screening of transactions) using OFAC, UN, HMR, EURO lists. o Due diligence checks and KYC review of high risk accounts with recommendations to management.

o Training of new and existing employees on the relevance of compliance and on AML/CFT standards, Know Your Customer (KYC), Due Diligence and key regulatory issues in line with the compliance program.

o Identification and mitigation of risks associated with existing and new customers, products and business lines.

o Review of compliance procedural manuals, Bank’s policy and CBN circulars.

• Compliance Regulatory Reporting:

Daily Suspicious transaction/activity investigation and reporting to Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU).

o Investigation and timely response to regulatory responses to enquiries from Nigeria Police Force (NPF), Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA). o Timely rendition of weekly reports– Currency Transaction Report (CTR), FTR – Foreign

(Currencies) Transaction Report to Nigeria Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) and Security Exchange Commission (SEC) and CBN.

o Monthly and quarterly and annual Returns to Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS).

o Quarterly review of Politically Exposed Persons (PEP) accounts for updates and suspicious transactions.

• Accomplishments:

o Identified and mitigated several high profile money laundering cases in the Bank that would have led to huge sanctions providing recommendations. o Successful review of the Bank’s compliance procedural manuals and program. o Zero fines and penalties on regulatory reporting. o Liaising and communicating with law enforcement agency on high profile cases o A member of the team that designed and implemented the e-learning platform of the bank

o Training of staff on AML/CFT issues as well as other compliance related topics. o Successful analysis of the compliance levels of all branches in the bank. o Member of the implementation team that successfully installed the compliance monitoring application of the bank.
