I am currently assigned to Quaker Houghton at the Ford engine assembly plant. I assist in maintaining coolant systems, washer systems and heat treat samples. I prepare the heat treat samples for destructive testing on a ford V6 crankshaft and preparing the main/rod bearing journals for metallurgical testing such as hardness testing, core hardness testing and acid etching. I also assist in the non-destructive in process testing of the crankshaft such as hardness testing and acid etching to maintain the integrity of the heat treatment during production. I also prepare heat treat samples for microstructure. I help maintain the PH level of the coolant and washer systems. I assist in other ways as needed.

Paulo – (April 2013 – November 2019) Job title: Quality lab technician

I started off as a Belt operator, as the belt operator it was my duty to run the customer product to the correct belt speeds and temperatures while maintaining lot control. With my hard work and attention to detail I was awarded the quality lab technician position. As the quality lab technician it was my duty to look over the charts and graphs to make sure all processes were being followed. I would also make certification packages for the customer, while creating the company’s long term date retention. I also would prepare samples of the parts by cutting them on a CNC wet saw. Then preparing the cut up piece by using a Struers cito press or using the cold mount method for the parts to be Rockwell hardness tested and micro hardness tested. I would also perform the Rockwell hardness testing, micro hardness testing, braze coverages and etching for the braze coverages per customer specifications. I also would train new employee’s to learn how to read and understand how the processes were performed and how the new employee could read these processes on the charts. I also helped develop the belt chart data retention. I came up with an idea to utilize the current tools available to help monitor the customers’ product in the heat. This ensured the best quality we could give our customer.

Enersys – (June 2012 – September 2012) Job title: Coil winder

It was my duty as the coil winder to wrap the correct gauge copper wire around a block and stop at certain areas to create leads. I would also strip the ends of the leads to attach a lug that would be the positive or negative connection for the coil pack inside the battery charger.

Rochling - (March 2006 – June 2012) Job title: General Service operator

I started off as a press operator it was my duty to cut and stack fiberglass mats on top of each other and pour the correct amount of polyester resin onto the fiberglass mat then put inside the press machine to create a flat sheet of various thicknesses. I was entrusted with the thicker more expensive sheets because of my attention to detail. With my hard work and dedication I was awarded the General Service Operator position of the pultrusion department. It was my duty to catalyze the polyester resins by using organic peroxides. I would weigh up the catalyst according to the type of polyester resin it was. As a team we would have to maintain the catalyst shed and use proper rotation of the organic peroxides. I would also cut the fiberglass mats to specific widths for 16 pultrusion machines. Each machine had a specific width and specific fiberglass material it had to use.
