The project was sponsored by the Hornet Cutting Systems, a leading manufacturer of different kinds of plasma cutting machines. The main objective of the project is to make cost effective models of compact dust collection systems for 5.5’, 6’, 8’ and 10’ plasma cutting machine & ensure to maintain quality of air.

• Designed dust collection system models for each plasma cutting machine calculating CFM for each and processing methods to ensure design feasibility and necessary modification.

• Applied developing knowledge of engineering principles to design compact dust collection system.

• Researched sponsor’s design proposal to evaluate sustainability and long-term cost-effective productivity.

• Verified designs using FEA analysis, DFMEA to assess the relative impact of different failures and identify stability of the dust collection system cabinet.
